Summer Wish List – Feeling Softer to the Touch and Bolder

[ad_1]

Summer always makes me hopeful. It may be a remnant of the freedom I felt when school was released years ago, but whatever the reason, I feel optimistic this time of year. Today, I’m sharing a few summer wish-list weaving favorites that are on my radar, and the ramblings that come with them.

I haven’t yet found the perfect summer bag I’ve been looking for and realize I may have put too much into its description.must contain”.

last years cross body purchases both ivory and this graphite were exciting achievements that I carried almost daily. I don’t like them any less now, but suddenly I want a change.

Most of my summer bags are decades old and I value them but fresh I can take the summer off and let them bring something new to my wardrobe, so I’m on the hunt for fun looks.

SMALL ISLAND TOTE

I caught my eye on this Pamela Munson bag For several years. It comes in multiple sizes, but it’s not strong enough to fit a ton of things, so there’s no point in buying the larger size. This petite version looks great for my height. The only thing missing from my requirement list is a top zipper closure, which I’ve reconsidered.

WOVEN HAT

Hats have always been a big part of my summer wardrobe, both for their protection from the sun and their attitude to the outfit.

I’ve had my eye on Sara Bray Bermuda Hats for almost a year and finally ordered this yesterday. Comes with 3 different colors of this wide grosgrain ribbon to change the look. It has such a garden party vibe that I hope to make a little league splash by wearing it 🙂

For many, this hat may be too chirpy for suburban activities, but I’m tired of living small with my wardrobe… right? We have survived a pandemic so all bets are off!

Sarah Bray’s sun hats are woven from old, recycled and biodegradable materials. It also features one-of-a-kind vintage ribbons so you can personalize your hat. This hydrangea style the above is part of a private collection sold only through Aerin Boutiques. I love the wide but shorter ribbon you tie at the back to secure it on your head. It’s sold out so I joined the waiting list with this French blue ribbon.

All of these looks have a bit of a southern flair, which is something I never crave, but why not? Fashion dresses our bodies, but it should also arouse pleasure, and if the last 2 years have taught me anything it’s that our future is unpredictable, if not now? When?

In 2018, I had some fun creating a Little Lord Fauntleroy bow with a favorite scarf over a white tunic. I loved how fun it felt that day, but I never copied the look and wondered why, so I reverted to the original post. Here is what I wrote in 2018-

“Yeah, it’s camping and it’s fun. It brings back good memories of when I worked in fashion and wore my clothes as the costume of my life. I wonder, why did I stop doing this? Life is too short not to have fun with your clothes.”

How funny is this? I say the same thing 4 years later, post-pandemic and life goes by fast. I’m writing this blog to show you modern fashion and tips to help you style them with pride so you can dress with confidence. I also hope to encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone and create pleasure with your clothes. I’m inspired by looks that are totally new to me these days, so I can add more quirkiness to my classic look and throw in a touch of drama if the urge hits me.

Woven Shoes

Last spring I bought a pair of embroidered, woven mules that I didn’t expect to wear out much. Apparently, they’re perfect with so many things that I’ve slowed down wearing them because I’m wearing them out.

I have several pairs of Birdies now and love their comfort. This is my only slide from them and I was hoping they would reissue them in new colors… but no luck so far. It’s Songbird style It goes high enough on my feet that I don’t have to grab my toes to hold them.

Birdies is not the only brand that makes embroidered slides, so I took a look and found these.

Dean Davidson just launched new birthstone pendant necklaces Collection as part of the Mother’s Day Gift Guide. From now until May 8, Dean will include it. Signature Merlot Jewelry Bag ($98 worth) on every purchase over $250. It’s a beautiful, quality little bag that I find invaluable when we travel.

Dressing up with drama and enthusiasm definitely gets people’s attention. Are you comfortable with that?
