The Best Sun Hats to Protect Your Skin

[ad_1]

Many of you know how careful I am about protecting my skin from the sun (a case of melanoma tends to do this), and hats are a stylish way to do it. Little hats are cute, but I prefer the ones that offer more protection and have worn them with confidence for years. Not only do they protect my skin from the sun’s harmful rays, they’re also great at covering bad hair days and ingrown roots if you dye your hair. Another thing I love about hats is the attitude they give to an outfit.

You can use it as a visor, a regular sun hat, a sun hat with neck protection or a sun hat with neck and face protection (as in the picture). This may seem exaggerated, but it works great for many situations where you are exposed to direct sunlight, such as gardening in the middle of the day, walking into the sun on the beach, sitting in the stands and watching grandchildren. do sports, etc. You can always remove the face and neck visor and put it in your handbag after the harshest sunlight hours of the day have passed.

This is the style of hat I take with me when we go to the tropics. It provides adequate protection from the sun as it has UPF50+ protection and an extra wide brim to protect my face, neck and shoulders. Plus, this style of hat is surprisingly easy to pack. One minus about big floppy hats like this on the beach is that they can use a chin strap to wear them in case of a strong wind! Ripe tomatoes, etc., from our vegetable garden in the summer, which I keep near the back door.

Speaking of chin straps, this cute little sun hat with a bow has a removable chin strap to keep it in place. It is foldable, packable and available in a variety of colors. As soon as I walked out the door I learned that very few hats fit properly, so I highly recommend these adhesive foam strips. All you have to do is attach them to the inside of your hatband.
