Recently I received a stream of questions about me pollen bags and requests to review them! The best way to start is with the most reached person, their number 8 bucket bag, but let me know your next review request! I love the brand’s attention to quality and detail (watch a video about how their bags are made) and also bought a few items as gifts to their friends and family.
Style and Size
As a small story, Polene was founded in France by 3 brothers and all their leather products are handmade in Spain. The bucket style is vintage-inspired, but I immediately gravitated towards their number 8 bag, as it has a sleek, modern shape and handy top handle. As a mom of two young children, I also wanted something that could be worn hands-free and was mini enough to not get in the way of my 5-foot frame (some crossbody bags feel too “bulky” to be comfortable) but with enough capacity. hold my necessities and toddler snacks.
Bag number 8 comes in two sizes: miniI have and classic size. Both sizes have 116cm (45.5″) adjustable shoulder straps.
- Dimensions of Mini: 19 x 18 x 18 cm ( 7.5 x 7 x 7 inches)
- Dimensions of the Classic: 24 x 22.5 x 22.5 cm (9.5 x 8.75 x 8.75 inches)
Colors
It comes in 9+ colors, mini and classic. I have a “camel” that I find versatile to wear year-round, but if “beige” was available at the time, I would have a hard time choosing!

considerations
- The shoulder strap is *not removable*. I would love it if that was possible!
- The top opening of the mini bucket bag is on the smaller side even after the drawstring is fully opened.
durability
The pebbled leather is very durable and scratch resistant compared to my other bags. I don’t “do” this bag, I also use it regularly with the kids and it’s still in great condition. It also has sturdy metal feet on the bottom for protection.
What Fits Inside
My little wallet, my sunglasses, my little makeup bag, my iPhone and two sachets for the kids or snack bar. This one won’t fit an iPad and may look like a long wallet from the top so I’d check the measurements.
