Mixing and Matching Everyday Summer Essentials

Happy Thursday ladies. Today, I’m mixing and matching casual summer essentials in some of my favorite fabrics and shapes. Using your clothes for dual purposes saves space in your closet, makes it easier to put together a beautiful outfit, and ultimately saves you money.

Cotton gauze fabrics are everywhere this summer, and with good reason. It is very soft and breathable, and when folded as double gauze, it has a squishy bulge that adds to its comfort.

This is Splendid gauze shirt such a double gauze with a wrinkled texture, perfect for summer. Since I wear a lot of white in the summer, I chose the darker of the two neutrals so that it suits my white items better. They have sizes XS-XL, I wear a nice and roomy small.

I’m wearing it over my new one NYDJ denim shorts. They have a classic 5-pocket style and are comfortable with a high waist and plenty of elastane and won’t tie you down when you move. White jeans can be pretty brutal no matter what size you wear, so having a nice looking shirttail is a bonus. These shorts are petite and regular, they come in 0-14 or 18P, I wear a regular size 4.

I finished this with my first pair Jack Rogers sandals. I know, I know… Where was I? There are two versions of these sandals that look alike. Classic version is here and this is Jacks II, It has a cushioned footbed that my aging feet appreciate. Sandals have 5 colors, sizes 5-11, I wear my regular 9.

Here is the same gauze shirt, an easy pair Vince pull-on pants. When I bought them, I assumed they were a substantial weight of flax, but it turned out that they were made from hemp, which is a stronger fiber and breathes more than flax. I love its stitched pockets and wider legs. These have a drawstring in the front and a flat-fitting waistband in the back. There are sizes XXS-XXL in white or black, I wear small.

I paired these with my new linen Toni Pons espadrilles this is the same gray color as my shirt. I won’t deny it… I love a little match-fit 🙂 These shoes have a comfortable elastic open back and low enough padding to be super comfortable, plus the linen uppers will keep my feet cool. They come in 4 colors in sizes 7-11, I wear 9-9.5.

Now let’s move on to the strips…

I’ve never met a strip I didn’t like, so I just couldn’t stand it light cotton shirt.

It is 100% breathable cotton and long enough to work its magic on my body. Lysee Scalloped Edge Denim Leggings…. hiding what she needs while keeping me calm. The scalloped edge on these tights really makes it work for me, especially with the shape of the sandal.

I added a simple cotton tank (because why not add a column of color when possible) and for a relaxed look, my Jack Rogers sandals will get me most places in my everyday lifestyle.
