Reader Question – I live on a farm and my lifestyle has always required comfortable and practical clothing. I am 70 years old and have just retired. I still want my clothes to be comfortable and practical, but I also want to wear beautiful and stylish things.

My personal style test results say Relaxed is the best look for me, but the colors you linked are disgusting in my opinion. From the paddock to my ears they belong in mud or dust. Do you have any better but still practical suggestions?

People are not one-dimensional, everyone is unique, so even if we have some similar personality traits, how we like to express them in our clothes can vary greatly from person to person. I remember having style consultations with two women (friends) once, they were both a mix of Classic, Casual and Feminine in their personalities of clothing, but would never wear each other’s outfits or outfits because of the elements and design details they chose. each of these dressing styles was totally different!

You may be comfortable where comfortable and practical clothes are essential for much of life, but as you mentioned you may have a secondary personality style of dressing like Feminine that combines pleasant and pleasant elements.

You can add a ruffled or floral print shirt. Consider feminine elements in your haircut, grooming; and accessories. There are so many options including floral rain boots; a polka dot gloves and a Broderie Anglaise embellishment on your garden apron.

The truth is, whatever your lifestyle, you need clothes that practically work, and they need to be in styles that speak to your personality and make you feel like the best version of you no matter what you’re doing.
