We turned to its founder, Gretchen Hollingsworth. INK+ALLOY, app to get easy tips.

“Throw and go” type accessories.

“As a mother of two and a business owner, I don’t have time to think a ton about every single piece I choose in the morning. I love having a handful of ‘throw and go’ type pieces that can put together a last minute look with ease. So, whether it’s a classic brass hoop or a pair of neutral beaded earrings, I can complete my look in a breeze + make my morning hustle look more deliberate. This is my favorite earrings linear brass hoop earrings + mine citron solid petite tassel earrings. Citron is a neutral color in my world + a color that always keeps my outfit on the border of chic/modern + boho/cool.”

Car jewelry.

“Yeah, that’s exactly what it sounds like. I got in the car one day after work and threw my bracelet set + earrings in my cup holder and left them in the car when I got home. The next evening I was meeting a friend for happy hour after work + realized I didn’t have any earrings – that’s the feeling you get when you notice a missing piece. You know that weird ‘naked’ feeling? That’s when I looked down and saw my forgotten accessories. That ‘oops’ moment turned into a happy little accident that I did on purpose. Keep a pair of earrings + a few bracelets in your car – your future self will thank you.

Color blocking and contrasting color trends.

“The next time you wear your favorite denim jacket, be sure to wear a pair of contrast coral earrings! That go-with pink-striped buttons? Accessorize boldly with green statement pieces. It’s a fun way to keep your wardrobe fresh and on-trend while using the handy, dandy color wheel we all learned in grade school.”

Mix metals.

“Mixing the metallics it’s fun! The classic ’90s bronze + silver tones are back and even more fun as a professional woman. It’s a great way to keep your heirloom pieces in rotation alongside the new finds you fall in love with now in stores. I love that this trend highlights my white gold wedding ring and it allows me to mix and match my brass bracelets + sparkly gold bead bracelets. It’s a regression trend that I’m grateful to have resurfaced.”

Choose an accessory that includes ALL the colors in your closet.

“You will reach out to him again and again. It seems like an obvious tip, but not everyone is brave enough to reach for a necklace, bracelet or earrings full of sharp colors. However, when I started collecting multi-colored accessories, I realized that they are just as versatile as any truly neutral piece! When in doubt, get a bright rainbow accessory and a quieter one and you’ll be surprised how often you reach for them. They will quickly become jewelery box staples.”

Find something to lay a strand on on a bad hair day.

“They are inevitable. Whether you’re sleeping on wet hair or just don’t have time to control your frizz, you’re sure to have a bad hair day at least a few times a month. Bad hair days are no problem when you have a suitable hair accessory in your arsenal. My favorite is a classic brass hairpin! It’s a harmless way to tame your hair in a lock, and it always makes it look like you’ve tried harder than you do. Just twist and shine a bit. my personal favorite this is brass hair stick this adds a bit of modern boho flare to any outfit.
