Where Should You Shop If You Need Clothing ASAP?

Picture this: The day before a big event for work and you suddenly realize that there is something wrong with the outfit you were planning to wear. So let’s discuss: Where should you shop if you need something ASAP?

(Sure, you can always just go to your local mall – but let’s say you’re a weird body or stuck in meetings all day and therefore MUST shop online.)

There are several stores that will tell you if the product is available at your local store; You can even arrange pickup to the car, usually same day. It’s funny – when I started writing this post, I would have said that Nordstrom and Target were just two of them, but there are actually quite a number of workwear stores that offer in-store pickup.

Note that some stores (cough, Abercrombie) allow you to SHIP to the store – but as far as I can see there is no guarantee on timing. Some fast fashion sites like H&M sell out so quickly that they’re honest that they can only give you a guess as to what’s in stock at each store.

Fast Shipping Clothing Sites

Which of us ordered from Amazon and asked “Is it available for 4am delivery tomorrow?” Also I always thought of Zappos as having super fast shipping. But let’s look around…

• Amazon – You can see the available items for “same day delivery” here
• Ann Taylor – next day business shipping is $25.
• ASOS – They offer express delivery for $8.99 and next day delivery for $20. (They also offer free, unlimited Express shipping for $24.99 per year with ASOS Premier.)
• Bloomingdale’s – depending on where you are, they can offer same-day or next-day delivery for $20 (via DoorDash)
• J crew – Expedited shipping is $15; Nightly shipping is $25, Saturday delivery is $35.
• Madewell – Offers $15 expedited shipping (free if you’re a Madewell Star or Icon) and $25 nightly shipping
• CONNECT TO THE NETWORK – they state that delivery availability varies by product, but they offer same-day service (with a 2 hour delivery window) for $25 – and you can choose a set date for delivery up to six days in advance; You want to keep your options open when traveling to a wedding or something. • Nordström – They offer same day delivery for the NYC area; otherwise they offer 2 business day delivery for $12 and next business day for $20. sister site Nordstrom Shelf Offers 2-day shipping for $15 and next-day shipping for $25.
• Return (and sister site frwd) – free 2-day shipping; they also offer UPS Next Day Savings for $24 and UPS Next Day for $30 (additional items are a little more or shipping costs a maximum of $50)
