Are you a snowbird? Do you spend your winters in Florida or do you come for a few weeks each year?
Like many northerners, Florida is my home away from home. I’ve been going there twice a year for the last 25 years to escape the cold and sunbathe. The weather is perfect, the dining and shopping top notch, the beaches breezy and relaxing. No wonder it’s one of America’s most popular vacation destinations.
Recently, some of you have emailed me planning a trip to Miami, Tampa, or Orlando, but aren’t sure what to wear. Here’s a look at some stylish ideas for what to take with you to Florida.
1. White Jeans
If you’re going to wear white, Florida is the place to do it. Long or short, white jeans are a must in my “southern” wardrobe. This year crop wide leg is more popular than ever. Try it with this cute striped top with boho tassels for a beachy look. Add stylish square-toe sandals, gold hoops, and a moody straw bag and head to the beach for a glass of wine and a seaside lunch.

2. A Fabulous Maxi
A sunny vacation is a great time to go out and wear something you wouldn’t wear at home. A long maxi dress is perfect for vacation life. 3. Shorts
Not everyone is a shorts fan, but I think it wouldn’t hurt to bring shorts. I like neutrals and some bright ones, but I’m not a fan of jeans. Talbots has a great collection of shorts.

Casual chic is the name of the game when you’re on vacation, and this cute sundress fits the bill. Tropical prints are always at home, but even better on a dark slimming background.
