What are you up to for Black Friday?

Here’s a fun question for today: What are you up to in the upcoming sales – Black Friday and Cyber Monday? Have you had great deals in the past?

For my $0.02, we have some of the bigger holiday purchases I hope to put up for sale – a new cell phone for my husband, a Meta Quest for the kids, a new rug to replace the old one, maybe a lamp or two for new specific spots.

Some of the best deals I’ve rated in the past include a range of blogging tools and services (I think I saved $1,000 a year alone) and a few household items for kids. (Especially for larger toys sold in many places – know the exact name of the item you want and then use Google shopping to find the lowest price. One of my friends was clamoring for $800 on an outdoor playset, but he really had to buy it from a random online store.) I stayed.)

My best advice in general is to think big – furniture, mattresses, technology, etc – but know what you want to get in (and what the going rate is). Even with only 10% + free shipping, this can save big on furniture or the like.

Another thing I’d recommend, especially if there’s beauty, art, clothing or smaller brands you’d like to try, is to pop in the newsletters – I pulled the trigger on a bunch of ecoSlay products last year. curls I wouldn’t otherwise have because they were selling well. i may have taken Our Floor pan my Brooks Brothers ruana during last year’s sales and a few years ago.

What about you – which sites will you check to find the best deals? Do you mostly focus on gifts for others or buying for yourself? Where have you had the best deals in the past?
