Tips to Help You Look Longer and Slimmer

[ad_1]

No woman has ever said she wants to look shorter and wider. At 5’4″ I like to use proportion and shape in my clothes to help me look taller because it also helps me look slimmer. Today I’m sharing some tricks that a petite woman can use to help her look taller and slimmer.

wear heels

Any heel, even a slight height, will help elongate your look, which in turn will make your legs appear longer. My feet revolt against heels, so this year I prefer low, comfortable heels or padded and platform heels that are loose.

Buy the one that fits your frame

Plus sizes and loose clothing often attract petite women and make them appear shorter than they really are. Instead, pair a loose bottom with a slim or fitted top and vice versa so that part of your figure is visible.

Opt for high-waisted jeans and high-waisted trousers

High-waisted jeans and high-waisted trousers create a vertical line that helps you look taller. If the trouser legs are full or the boot cut, roll up the hems to cover your shoes, but don’t drag them on the floor. Pants that are too long will look overwhelming and you will look shorter than you are. Roll up the front of your shirt or twist it in half for the longest possible look. Avoid short or capri pants that visually cut your leg and make it look shorter. Cuffs are never your trouser friend, so avoid them at all costs.

Wear a color column

There’s no doubt that wearing one color from head to toe or from shoulder to ankle will make you look taller. The continuous visual line allows the eye to move seamlessly from top to bottom, which visually lengthens you. Low-contrast, tonal and monochromatic clothing with similar hues can have the same effect.

Try not to break this line with a contrast thin belt that cuts the eye halfway and draws attention to your waist. For the same reason, you should also avoid wide belts.

Handbag

Carry a smaller bag. Petite women are overwhelmed by large purses and handbags. Scale your bag according to your size and height. Also, prevent your bag from hitting the widest part of your body, creating a horizontal line that makes you look wider.

Shoe

Nude shoes help you look taller by lengthening the look of your legs. Dark trousers or tights and a dark shoe have the same effect, so pair your pants and shoes for the tallest look. Ankle straps and gladiator sandals shorten the look of your legs. If you like the feeling of security that buckle shoes or sandals give on your ankles, make sure these are nude shoes that match your skin tone. Pointed toe shoes provide more visual length for your leg.

necklines

V-necklines draw the eye vertically and make you appear taller, giving the illusion of a longer torso. Crew and boat necklines are flattering for narrow shoulders, but they create a horizontal line that moves the eye sideways, affecting the vertical line you’re trying to create.

Scarves and necklaces

Long necklaces and scarves draw the eye up and down. Necklaces that fit the neckline of your top can shorten your look, so play with proportions and look in the mirror.

long outerwear

Duster-length cardigans elongate your silhouette. Choose thinner fabrics and avoid bulky fabrics with large patch pockets or distracting buttons. Longer blazers and jackets will also create the illusion of length.

Model

Skip the large-scale patterns that will overwhelm you. Opt for solid or smaller patterns in proportion to your size. Vertical stripes, princess seams and pleats draw the eye up and down, creating the illusion of height.

sleeved

A wide, puffy or expressive sleeve reduces the modern effect you’re looking for. Thinner arms have a more streamlined appearance. 3/4 sleeves also help you look taller, so a simple act like folding your arms or pushing up will help you look taller by showing off some extra skin.

Find a Tailor

Few clothes fit us perfectly off the shelf, so find a good tailor in your area. Changed clothes to fit you perfectly will instantly make you look taller.

If I followed all of my advice above, I still wouldn’t look 6 inches tall but would look like I’m the tallest, which helps us look slimmer.
