What do you wear to keep your feet dry in summer rains? Do you have summer rain boots? Reader P is wondering.

A shoe question for you – what are the best shoes to wear to work in the hot summer rain? I usually wear my long Hunter rain boots during the spring, but they are too hot for the sweltering +80 degree summers. Are plastic flip-flops any good? They look the most functional, but wearing them with a suit or business suit feels very awkward. Is there anything in between?

I wonder what the readers are saying here. As I mentioned earlier, I hate wet feet—here in New York you can easily and unexpectedly get into a half-foot deep puddle (including an enclosed place like the subway), if not more. (And often gross!)

I’m a big fan of my Hunter rain boots for the colder months (in the picture) and honestly, if the weather is a little cold (possibly up to 75 degrees), but I still take off my rain boots. knee socks instead of tights.

I’ve had these turn crocs in the past (mostly to play with my son at the local water park). When it comes to rubber shoes, they’re fine for the commute—but I wouldn’t want to step into a city puddle with them anyway. (I also wouldn’t want to wear them on gravel or anywhere small stones could get stuck in your shoes.)
