Autumn has always excited me to add new textures to my everyday outfits, from soft flannels to cozy plaid fabrics, to more luxurious-feeling faux suede and stylish leather. I’m partnering with Ann Taylor to share my petite-friendly picks that include some of these elements that can be styled from work to weekend. They are currently running a great promotion during their campaign. Friends of Ann sale – use code ANNVIP for 40% off your purchase (ends 9/20)!

Plaid Pull On Ankle Trousers

Petite and Regular size, xxs – xl

“Pull on” has been music to my ears for the past year, and I love how brands offer brighter-looking styles like these, which have clean, flat front waistbands but elastic at the back for comfort! Herringbone plaid fabric stretches a bit, making it soft and comfortable against the skin.

The cut of the leg is a slightly more relaxed fit and the minions actually give me a nice cropped length (5ft tall) hits my ankles. Xxs petite measurements: 9.75″ rise, 25″ inseam and 12.5″ across waist when not stretched. Pair them with a jersey top like this draped fake neck shell for a classic yet super comfortable workwear!

A few more suggestions as part of the 40% discount:

  • puff sleeve t-shirt – See me below. I absolutely love the shoulder and sleeve detail of this dressing for an everyday henley. The sleeves are actually made of a different fabric than the ribbed henley T-shirt and are gathered gently, not overwhelmingly. Petite ladies can also get away with their regular size for more color options like beautiful blue!
  • square neck tank – punch a layer of warm neutral.
  • herringbone blazer – pair it with work pants or jeans!

Autumn textured Peplum Top

Normal sizing, xxs – xxl

This silhouette has been a long time favorite as it goes flattering with jeans, ankle pants, and wider-leg pants. I have a navy top with pretty much the same cut from Ann Taylor almost 10 years ago, and I love that they’ve updated it for fall in two luxe feel textures: faux suede and Faux Leather (comes in small sizes). Faux suede only comes in regular sizes as of now and the of xxs Regular is looser on me across the shoulders and bust. If you’re on the more petite side, I’d rather try the petite sized version, which is a bit smaller than faux leather!
