As Bridal Fashion Week approaches, we reached out to industry experts and asked them to prepare trends for the season and beyond.

Think Princess Di

“The Disney-style oversized extravagant princess ball gown is making a comeback! This is how everything looks these days, from lashes to wedding dresses by designers like Ellie Saab,” says the stylist and founder. swiministaAndrea Bernholtz.

bead bead bead

“Gems and beads are everywhere. It’s not just for the little details anymore, it’s moving down the full corridor from head to toe. Changes take a lot of time and are expected to wear a heavy dress all night,” says Bernholtz.

long and short

“I call this trend the Mullett of wedding dresses. Consider a short dress with a long tail, yet still elegant, modern and easy to dance in. Monique Lhuillier does this trend very well,” says Bernholtz.

Strapless and underwear models

“This is the season of the sexy bride. You don’t need to buy underwear, just remove the skirt from your corset, your honeymoon is ready. Combining other trends like beadwork and high-low hems can add to this season’s other trends,” says Bernholtz.

Unexpected fabrics

“These will also appear this season, perhaps the whole dress could be made of tulle or lame fabric. Keeping it white, of course, but the new textures are putting a modern spin on classic styles,” says Bernholtz.

3d flowers

“There is nothing more feminine and beautiful than being adorned with gorgeous floral stickers that follow you every step of the way. Many designers are showcasing gorgeous 3D floral elements for 2023 styles,” says fashion stylist Chantelle Hartman Malarkey.

sheer dresses

“Tasteful transparency is a big trend this season. It’s light and airy, which looks and feels like a calming breeze as you walk down the hallway. There’s comfort, no one wants a dress to weigh on the dance floor,” says Malarkey.

asymmetrical collars

“A simple way to stand out is with an asymmetrical neckline because it’s unconventional, but it’s sophisticated and fashion-forward,” says Malarkey.

covered with jewels

“This trend brings high elegance and a touch of high-end luxury to make you feel like a bride’s jewellery,” says Malarkey.

shorter sides

“It’s cute, flamboyant, away from the traditional long hemlines that drag down the aisle. The short hem creates a fun, active bride. Trending aside,” says Malarkey.

unique folds

“The most exciting brands I’ve seen are trending with plunging necklines, sleeves and cropped legs, but they don’t stop there. They add overalls, suits, capes, veils and patterns. Husband and wife duo Cucculelli Shaheen to watch out for and watch. They have an impressive collection, which is reflected in the price tag, but they are definitely the most striking designs I’ve ever seen on a wedding dress. They have styles ranging from printed suits to two-piece bustier-skirt suits, long and mini-length embroidered dresses, and capes to accompany many styles. I think this brand’s level of fashion is unique and really makes a bride stand out,” she says. PeonyMelony Huber
