Size 30 Wedding Dress

Before I dive into my collection of size 30 wedding dresses, here are a few tips I want to share when shopping for a size 30 (or higher!) wedding dress:

Tip 1: Read the Size Chart!!

In my own work as a plus size blogger and fashion designer, I find that my readers and followers are fed up with size charts. Many plus size customers, for a variety of interesting reasons (and brides!) consider it a “real” size chart.

Many plus size people have a certain idea of what measurements should fit a particular size.

It would be easier if there was only one universal size chart, but it’s actually a good thing there isn’t! You see, the size chart often reflects how tight or tight a brand wants a garment to look. A size chart reflects the FIT of a garment.

That’s why I recommend you take your measurements (a friend or best stitcher can help if needed!), so you can see what size you need. A size 30 in one brand is probably *not* the same as another!

Tip #2: Trust Brands That Show Plus Size Models

Okay, I guess we can all agree that it’s annoying AF for a brand to offer plus sizes, but there’s no over 10/12 model in sight.

BUT, this problem actually helps in a backwards way. Look, if a brand doesn’t put plus-size models in size 30 wedding dresses, I’ll bet you MONEY. (as a trained fashion designer who spends LOTS of money learning how to design plus size clothing)) that they overlooked or resorted to shortcuts while designing the pattern of their plus size clothes.

Let me reiterate: If a brand isn’t showing visibly plus-size models in its marketing, it’s not doing a good job with the FIT of their wedding dress.

If a brand can’t go to the trouble of being inclusive enough to show a plus-size model in their bridal gown, I bet it’s a big deal when rating patterns, doing fit tests, etc. did not pay due attention.

I’m just saying!!!!

Tip #3: DRESS LIKE FAT

Okay, this tip might be a little irritating to some people – but listen to me! When it comes to deciding which plus size wedding dress to wear, I BEWARE: Dress like a FAT!

Most of the time, I see brides choosing plus size wedding dresses by trying to hide themselves. From wearing long sleeves because they’re shy about their sleeves, to letting them look at very structured gowns that simply “fit in” when they choose to be an oversized boho bride with a loose Stevie Nicks-inspired number!

No matter which size 30 wedding dress you decide to wear, please choose your wedding dress according to what you envision beforehand.

Okay, now that we’ve got our tips, here are wedding dresses in sizes 30!

Because bro, to be honest: People already know what your body looks like. They do!! I promise!! Your loved ones have seen your belly, hips, arms, whatever!

Don’t dress like you’re apologizing for being on your wedding day. <3
