The Emmy aired last night, and while I’m not a huge fan of the awards show, I will always come for a plus-size bombshell that slays the red carpet; or should I say golden carpet in this case! Last night for the 74th Emmy Awards, I was thrilled to see fashion and style flooding my timeline and television screen.

When it comes to major fashion events and red carpets, plus size people and style are ALWAYS little or completely underrepresented. There are too many gaps, limitations and completeness discrimination In plus size fashion, which I can’t even begin to list.

Whenever a big red carpet event happens, I’m reminded how rare it is for an oversized figure to wear high fashion and runway styles. When I was little, I used to wonder if fat women were invited to big red carpet events! (I know, it sounds crazy.)

So, when I see plus size girls different body types, by attending award ceremonies, and in these areas, I give them what they deserve because I know what it’s like to put together that look and bring their vision to life for themselves. Seeing plus-size fashion on the red carpet deserves a moment, and we’re giving it away!

Ashley Nicole Black

Ashley Nicole Black doesn’t just surprise us onscreen. “A Black Lady Sketch Show” and he wrote “Ted Lasso” but she also adores the gold carpet in a black dress and matching gloves! The mesh/see-through on the lower half of the dress adds enough sexiness to the dress, while the silver clutch and low bun bring the classic Hollywood look together.

we need more Plus Size Fashion is on the Red Carpet!

This is important to see because when you’re there plus size designers and plus size stylists ready, there are still a few designers and stylists who refuse to style or work with stars over size 8/10. So yes, I will celebrate these looks and moments because it is 2022 and unfortunately this is still considered groundbreaking.

AND, plus-size people deserve to see themselves glamorous and flamboyant on the Emmy’s rug and wherever high fashion is welcomed and standard.

Plus size girls who showed off their plus size fashion on the red carpet won last night. This much. This much.
