Packing Plans – A Well Styled Life®

Happy Monday ladies. I can’t believe how fast our journey caught me. I’m not a regular, don’t know what to pack and wish I had another week to prepare. If you know me, an extra week won’t help anyway, so I’ll dig in and start putting things on a rolling rack.

Packaging

I’ll probably buy a bunch of black and a few scarves because these are always life savers when traveling. I already have a lot of black and a lot of scarves, so that should make things easier. Do I want to travel with too much black knowing it’s not my best color? I’m completely fine with it. I love knowing the most flattering colors on me, but I refuse to be a slave to this palette. I think we can limit ourselves to the point where it’s hard to get dressed, and that’s the last thing I want to do to myself. Dressing up should be easy and fun. Plus, I always feel stylish in black. The way I want to wear black have changed. Now I pay more attention to the contrast between the colors, so I will wear it with darker colors and less white.

I ordered These compression cubes I’m so excited to try. I never realized the value of the packing cube until I found these. They have an extra zipper that you zip to keep things flat to save space.

The cruise ship requires a negative COVID test before boarding, but to be honest, that’s not very reassuring because someone who caught it the day before could be a carrier. We just plan to be very careful and hope for the best.

outfit of the week

I’ve had several outfit requests in a winter palette so this OOTW is just that.

I wore Russian Red lipstick in my late 30s and always felt overwhelmed by my face, which it did. Even at that age, I knew something was wrong inside of me, so I encourage you to listen to your instincts.

I clustered the red near the upper part of the body and deliberately chose black shoes. If I wore red shoes with this look, the eye would pop all over the place instead of focusing on the face. The outfit would start to look wavy and nothing would look special. Even the red sunglasses are a bit of a stretch, but they’re so cute.

Jewelry definitely has an avant-garde slant, so they take this look a step further. i love the quality Brahman Bags, and that’s pretty surprising. The magenta ombre combination red is simply stunning and both are “winter” colors.

This classic look has enough texture and pattern to be interesting but not overwhelming.

Ladies keep emailing me for directions their 3 style promises. I think it can be helpful if we start thinking of antonyms for our style words. For example, this OOTW not delicate, feminine or subdued. Nailing what we don’t want our style to be can make it easier to focus on what we want it to be.
