Monday Thoughts: Style Quotes, Bunnies, and Outfit of the Week

[ad_1]

I got a ton of email responses from Sunday’s newsletter. Many of you have shared your dry eye struggles and how you treat yours. Frankly, this is an ongoing issue for most of us. I’ll keep you posted on my progress and also write a summary with your suggestions because so many of them are great!

Blepharitis is not trivial and can be very painful. BTW, I’m pretty sure I’ve now moved my car’s air vents away from my face…who knew something so simple could matter? I ordered a few things that readers recommended, all the way from the UK, so excited about it!

I update my style recipe

I’m heading to Florida in a few weeks to meet some of my favorite bloggers. Strangely, I feel completely unprepared for the hot weather and have no idea what to pack. I know this seems silly because only three months ago it was still very hot in here.

That hot weather section of my wardrobe has lost its appeal for me because I’m not sure I want to dress the same way in 2023. As we grow and change, our style also changes. We need to update our wardrobe to express who we are right now. I’m not the person I was last spring. Damn, I’m not the person I was last month!

My style recipe has been on autopilot for too long. It feels stale and that’s no fun at all. Clothing should not only cover our bodies… they should also give us pleasure. I’ve fallen into the trap of too many foundations in similar colors and not enough pieces to please me. I guess when this process shakes itself, I can wait to have one or two new style words. The word feminine comes to mind but never girly. Pretty can be there or just soft. I know I want to turn things upside down, and this is the perfect opportunity to discover what I’m looking for because my stuff from last spring is too tight to wear on this Florida trip. Have you felt any shifts in how you want to look this year?

lunar new year

Lunar New Year, called Chinese New Year, was celebrated yesterday. I love the feeling of new beginnings so I fell a bit rabbit hole on this one. Interestingly, this is the year of the rabbit now! I was born in the year of the Monkey, which doesn’t sound as good as a rabbit, but it is. I see many retailers celebrating this year. David Yurman There are gifts for him and her to celebrate the year of the water bunny.

rabbit charm

This rabbit amulet isn’t nearly as much on my street as a monkey amulet… though if I go on a safari, a monkey amulet can be a great keepsake. If you really want a golden rabbit charm, you can have one. much less here… it has a Playboy bunny feel to it though 🙂

Senreve has different bags For every sign in 2023.

Show Fair He talked about how some fashion designers celebrate with see-and-see parties. Many fashion brands have capsule collections launched In honor of the year of the rabbit.

of Louis Vuitton The Lunar New Year capsule collection includes a variety of accessories such as scarves, berets, bunny mugs and bunny boxes. Some products have small rabbit embroideries and rabbit jewelry.”

Gucci, Valentino, Nike, Burberry, Loewe and others created capsule collections.

Too much? multicultural magazine Wondering if Lunar New Year has gotten too commercial. I think everything is these days.

outfit of the week

I haven’t put together the outfit of the week for a while so I thought I’d do it and no, the bunnies are not included 🙂

QUILTED JACKET / CHAMBRAY SHIRT / CLASSIC FLAT LEG JEANS / BALLET FLATS / Mulberry SILK SCARF / BLUE LEATHER CROSSBODY BAG / STERLING SILVER YARN EARRINGS / NAVY BLUE SUEDE BELT / LIPSTICK AT FOXGLOVE

Double denim 2023’s trend (what else is new?), flats and vibrant green hues. I’ve included a very affordable silk bandana that will attach wonderfully to the handle or neck of a crossbody bag. I bought this Chantecaille lipstick from Foxglove last week and I LOVED it! The brand is cruelty-free and its products are free of phthalates, sulfates, mineral oil, petroleum jelly, palm oil, and GMOs. A shimmery, creamy lipstick that lasts and stays put.

I think flats never go out of fashion. And since they’re on trend for 2023, our options will be plentiful, making it easy to find the fit, comfort and color you like.

BTW- sheer black tights (ladies with those panties) are back in fashion for 2023 and my pasty legs couldn’t be happier.

Now that you know what’s on my mind this Monday, Please share your opinion.

Thanks for reading and make sure you wear things that make you feel safe and express who you are today.
