Monday Thoughts- Shoes, Eggs and Travel Clothing

[ad_1]

Happy Monday ladies. This week’s reflections are more haphazard than usual, I think it’s either a sign of genius or stress 🙂 Guess the latter.

What’s your favourite?

I’ve been recording more miles on the treadmill lately and as a result, my feet are not happy campers. Yesterday I had to take a break from them and do some yoga at home. I ordered a few different casual sneakers and these M. Ship riding loafers Elizabeth recommended last week. They were already in my basket, so his advice sealed the deal…sorry for being convenient.

PASTOSO DRIVING SHOES

I love my Munro loafers and flats, but I know our feet are so unique that it won’t work for everyone. I was wondering what your favourites were. Are there any particularly comfortable loafers or flats that you can recommend? As a resource, I’d love to do a roundup for you. BTW, my new AGLs have appeared and don’t fit, so they go back. I checked the size against my old shoes and they were the same, but obviously I stretched them a lot since my feet got wider as I got older. Shhh.

checked bags

I’ve checked a suitcase every 20+ years and it went bad last time. After arriving at my door they canceled my flight and it took me days to get my bag back. Luckily I was going home but still! It just confirmed that it was better for me to continue. I’m going to have to break this rule for my Miami trip next week, and I’m a little nervous about it. I know people have successfully checked their bags. Always, but I’ve only had disasters while doing it. I’m bringing some outfits to shoot for the blog and I can’t get it all in my bag.

I often put my hats in my hand luggagebut i decided this hat clip It seemed like a great idea because it will take several hats at once. I hope it arrives in time for my trip.

cooking mistakes

I’ve been a fan of Egg bites lately but I’m struggling to make them successful. Starbucks does a great job with theirs and I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong so I’m hoping to get some ideas from you. I use four whole eggs, the rest is egg white. I put chopped red pepper, some red onion and spinach in each glass and top with scrambled eggs. Maybe I put too many vegetables in mine?

IT DOESN’T LOOK THE BEST, BUT I CAN PROMISE IT STATS GREAT AND IT IS A VERY FAST BREAKFAST

My non-stick muffin tin is proving to be a disaster for these things. For my first batch, I sprayed it on the outside of the pan but they got stuck and I lost 1/3 of each sticky to the pan. Next, I tried using muffin tins that turned the inside of the pan a bright blue, so I was worried they were doing the same to the eggs. It was also a nightmare to peel the eggs so we only ate the middle and wasted a ton of “bites”. These things aren’t big in the beginning so I want to be able to consume them all. I’ve been researching and exploring options lately food grade silicone liners. Have any of you tried them? Everything I’ve read suggests they are safe to use. I love crowdsourced ideas from you ladies so any advice is welcome.

outfit of the week

This week I have travel on my mind and what to wear. This includes the Eileen Fisher crepe pants that I never travel without. They have them in a variety of colors, most of them over 15 years old. They are super comfortable, never wrinkle and are machine washable.

THIN KNIT PANTS / SLIP-ON SNEAKERS / SWEATER WITH BASKET STITCH / OPEN CARDIGAN / BACKPACK / NO SHOW SOCKS / HUGGIE EARRINGS / AIRPODS / CARRYING LUGGAGE

The sneakers look super comfortable and the shoeless socks will come in handy if you’re not a TSA Pre and need to take off your shoes to get through security. Airpods or noise canceling headphones are imperative when flying, and layers for fluctuating airplane temperatures.

Do you have any upcoming trips?
