Monday Thoughts: Minimalism and Shopping

[ad_1]

Happy Monday ladies. Today’s title may sound a bit contradictory, but my madness has a method. since it’s still early I thought we could keep chatting about January, new beginnings and getting organized. My makeup and underwear drawers were messed up over the weekend, and that feels great. How did I collect so many lipsticks? And eyeshadow? And random brushes?

Because I prefer preservative and chemical-free products, they have a shorter shelf life, so I knew it was time to clean. Here’s what The Mayo Clinic has to say about expired makeup. I got rid of at least eight lipsticks and as many lip liners. When was the last time you cleaned yours?

I’m not sure where the urge to simplify comes from but it takes a life of its own and I love it! I want to make everything more minimal, like a few neat shelves, a clothes rack that isn’t stuffed, and so on! I want to have less just ok items and more I like items in my life

While I was packing bras to donate, I wondered what your favorite bras were. Which one do you find most comfortable? These my current favorites. I’m not equipped enough so I left the underwires years ago and never missed them one bit. I know many of you trust them, so please share your favorites in the comments. BTW- Did you know that in women’s shelters who have been beaten, bras are not donated enough and are much needed?

What Am I Shopping This Month?

I was on the hunt for new workout clothes that would help motivate me to go to the gym. I rummaged through my drawer on Friday and discovered that everything looked dull, black and/or boring. This won’t make me want to go to the gym, so I went shopping for fresher non-black options. i tried some Emphasis, And wow, it’s pretty amazing.

VUORI PERFORMANCE JOGGERVUORI BASIC HOODIE

These pieces are the softest thing I’ve had on me in a long time. The pants look black but are charcoal. I did not buy them as I am not a fan of the runner shape, but looking at them here I think they are good! Also, I don’t usually prefer hoodies because they have a more sporty feel than what I’m wearing. And with that, I say to myself… Jennifer, but you’re looking for clothes for sporting activities! You should be able to laugh at yourself, and I do this a lot when shopping for workout clothes.

ALO MUSE HIGH WAIST SWEAT PANTS size S – ALO SOHO READY size S

Then I tried some Hello stuff. Again, super soft and very comfortable. The sweatpants feature a corduroy fabric that looks like stretchy corduroy. I like the night green but they have sweatpants so I left them at the store. The sweater is gorgeous, so I ordered it in a setting.

THIS BAG ATTRACTED MY ATTENTION BECAUSE IT IS THE MOST EXTRAORDINARY GRAY AND LAVENDER BELOW.

So I went shopping for a handbag. For a few moon. I want one that feels luxurious and special and isn’t black. Do you see the theme here? I have enough black. I shop in person from second-hand luxury stores and online. I haven’t found the perfect one yet, so my hunt continues. My daughter bought a great LV fanny pack at Real Real that’s in much better condition than the one I’ve used for the last 20 years. fashionista it’s also a great place to buy used bags, so I check them often.

On the other hand, I finished knitting my hat and went back to the corset I wore for De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis. Coincidence? Maybe. That’s why I’m planning to make things a little easier with my newly discovered knitting. dependence habit because I don’t want to have surgery. I’m also shopping for a non-black hand rest :).

Thanks for reading, and be sure to wear what makes you feel great.
