Monday Thoughts – Copper, Lapis Blue and Dress of the Week

[ad_1]

Happy Monday ladies. This week’s reflections are all over the map, but that can be expected for today as I give you a glimpse of what’s going on in my world.

We are experiencing the strangest weather of late spring. One day it’s warm… the next day there’s a cold breeze and gray skies, but the California poppies are gone, so spring has arrived! Variable weather may be normal in other areas, but the weather here is generally predictable and frankly therefore rather boring. I started packing suitcases at every opportunity for my grandson’s little league games. I was very grateful for my down park on Saturday afternoon but for over an hour the sun was hitting my eyes directly and I wish I had brought a parasol. We’re going there in my husband’s car, so I have to think about what to bring each time. I think I’ll pack a bag and keep it ready to grab and go in the near future.

I’m a bit of a skincare and makeup freak and I’m constantly trying new products.. I’ve been thinking a lot about clean and brutal beauty lately. They usually go hand in hand, but sometimes it’s one or the other. I would prefer a product that ticks both boxes, but if I had to make a choice, I would be cruelty-free first. Which would you choose first?

Copper Peptides For Skin

In this regard, I am going back to skin care products and I love what I have found. I know that copper peptides are a great antioxidant for our skin. They are naturally occurring amino acids that help stimulate collagen production, repair skin barriers, reduce fine lines and smooth rough skin.

BIOSSANCE SQUALANE + COPPER PEPTIDE SERUMNIOD COPPER AMINO ISOLATE SERUM

Copper Peptides have also been reported to reduce photodamage and protect the skin from UV radiation. I bought This Biosense Serum last year and I love how it gets absorbed into my skin, leaving no residue. I can’t tell you how much copper is in this product but the color is very pale baby blue and it has a slight copper smell, so I know it has some in it.

After reading this government researchI decided to up my copper peptide game and get a stronger one.

NIOD COPPER AMINO ISOLATE SERUM

This is Niod serum It is a water-based product that dissolves easily on the skin and does not leave any residue on the skin. It has an unpleasant stronger copper odor. I love that Niod states the quantities in their products. This serum contains 1.0% Pure Undiluted Copper Tripeptide-1 plus 1.0% Pure Undiluted Tripeptide-1 and additional skin-supporting peptides.

I use a lot of good products for my skin, so it’s hard to tell what works for what, but my skin looks great and I firmly believe in the benefits of antioxidants, both in skin care and in the food we eat. It is important to note that it is best not to combine copper peptides with topical Vit C or retinoids. I apply mine to my Retin A at alternate nights and then replace it with my Vit C in the morning.

outfit of the week

I’ve been reaching for more colors lately and focusing on blue. This week’s outfit could have been all blue, but I decided to dot it with some natural straw and white.

i love your harmony these Hudson jeans and I just ordered a second pair. They have a nice rise and the length means I don’t have to pinch them, which is a win/win in my book. I added some rich lapis blue, a natural straw hat, and a small woven leather tote bag.

Does this word strike fear or disgust in your heart? Last week I had a little underwear accident, which you’ll see later this week. I wonder what brands you wear for shapewear. Do you have a favorite panty brand? Slip? How about wearing shorts under a skirt to avoid leg chafing? Please share in the comments.

Thanks for reading, and be sure to wear what makes you feel safe.
