Monday Music – Sustainability – A Well Styled Life

[ad_1]

Happy Monday ladies. Today’s music is all over the map. We went to our friend’s 75th birthday party this weekend and was very surprised to find it. A B-day card that says 75! That’s not even close to getting old these days!

I promised to share favorite bag on sale 40% off and here it is now!

Dear Hallmark, we live longer, more active and vibrant lives than you think, and we need cards to reflect that 🙂

Anyway… recycled cashmere, anything biodegradable, and sustainable jeans are on my mind this week.

Our carbon footprint on this planet is pretty obscene, so I’m calling out to brands that use recycled fibers and sustainable manufacturing practices because I want to do my best to promote products that are better for our planet. Even at my favorite store Nordstrom their sustainable style

CERTIFIED PLASTIC-NEUTRAL PILL COVER

This medicine box manufacturer, in partnership with Taka Taka Solutions and rePurpose Global, donates 62 cents of each product purchase to fund the collection of 6800 pounds of plastic waste from oceans and landfills each year. It may be too small to hold all my vitamins but it will definitely hold my RX meds.

Recycled cashmere anything is always a new idea and is available in more places lately.

BIODEGRADABLE SPONGES

I don’t know about you, but kitchen sponges make me sick to my stomach. No matter how meticulous I am about rinsing and wringing them out, they still look gross in a day or two. I know they’re still full of germs even though I ran mine through the dishwasher.

scrub and discard sponges

I found coolest little sponges for one day use only, 100% compostable and cost effective! Each box contains 30 compressed loofah sponges in a 3-inch square box. They look like crackers until you run them under water, then puff, instant sponge. You can subscribe to get one box every month and save 20% (they’re very affordable already) or buy 3 and get one free with code HOLIDAY2021. Shipping is free in the USA.

WEARING – BOOTCUT JEANS

Denim is considered one of the most environmentally damaging fabrics and one of my favorite garments. A single pair of jeans can make up to 1,500 liters and water is an invaluable resource.

  • boden makes a variety of recycled cotton jeans.
  • Universal Yarns denim Target is committed to using more sustainably sourced cotton and recycled polyester in Universal Thread jeans.
  • Free Installation From Walmart it looks as good as it’s affordable and is committed to sustainability
  • Levis Well including denim, it is “consistently exploring radical new ways to make the clothes you love with less damage”.
  • to be able to it uses fabrics from factories that develop different types of sustainable denim and recycles the water used in processing.

RECYCLED PLASTIC BOTTLE JEWELRY

We all know what a nightmare plastic bottles are for our environment. They fill our oceans and landfills at an alarming rate. Clever people are now making jewelry from recycled plastic bottles, and some of it is incredible!

My mind was also deeply immersed in personal color analysis, dressing according to our style essence, body proportions, and how to dress with authenticity. In my newsletter, I shared the best way to use contrast when combining your clothes (are you a subscriber?) and I will share it later.

What’s on your mind this week?

Thanks for reading and don’t forget to wear what makes you feel safe.
