Happy Monday ladies. We had a gorgeous second home on Vancouver Island with beautiful views towards Georgia. the mountains of the mainland and beyond. Both my brothers lived nearby, my daughter a short ferry ride away. We have so many good memories of our time there and I wish we could preserve it.
What I didn’t like was the endless gray skies we saw in winter. I’m not sure if I’m struggling with seasonal affective disorder, but it could be. I know my mom definitely did and I inherited her timid legs so this is extremely possible.
By a strange twist of fate, I’m discovering the same kind of gray skies where we live now that makes me turn on all the lights and crave vibrant colors throughout the day.
I was walking by Old Navy last week and noticed a color that drove me into the store. They say Pale Glass, I go with mint 🙂 Tracksuit do not do that It didn’t fit my style, I don’t like banded bottoms and I only wear gym clothes for training but these had to come home with me. I wore them for walking yesterday and finally stayed in them all day. Every time I looked at my leg or arm I had a jolt of happiness saying this was a good buy.
With the other random color news, I’m a little surprised at what’s going on in my head. When I stopped coloring my hair, I dreamed of luscious silver curls with touches of white. When I look at my hair in the photo above, it doesn’t look much different than when I added high and low light.
My left side is much whiter than my right, but the overall effect is still blonde, not silver. I still have a ways to go until all of the old color is gone, but the overall effect may be less dramatic than I had hoped. I find it funny that I’m disappointed that I’m not enough gray 65 years old. Who would have thought that this could be a “thing”?
Finally got this personal style book by David Kibbe. His theory divides body shapes into yin/yang ratios, helping women discover whether they are Dramatic, Romantic, Theatrical, Classical, Natural, Flamboyant, Gamine, or combinations of various genres. You have to look past the 1980s fashion, but the concepts are fascinating.
It also encourages women to adopt and dress the way they are, rather than trying to fix what we perceive as flaws. Out of print and in high demand, but before the holidays I found one reasonably priced at Thrift Books. You can also leave a cool $500+ on Amazon.
I noticed purple popping up in stores long before I learned that Pantone had announced Data Fairy as its color of the year 2022. Data Fairy is a sea snail with a strong red-purple undertone that resembles deep lavender. In reality, anything up close will be trending this spring. I love sea snails so it’s definitely on my radar.

He’ll soon start appearing in home decor, accessories, apparel, and movies, and I’ll be ready. I ordered this cotton cardigan because it’s on sale, but I guess I’ll put off the sea snail nail polish for now. I want to push my comfort levels on color, but not push it over the edge 🙂
