Monday Music – Finding Your Size

Happy Monday ladies! This week, I’ve been thinking about body measurements and how women who don’t fit the “average” have a hard time finding clothes that fit their size. Lands End sent me a few t-shirts to style on Instagram (this isn’t a sponsored blog post), and the more I dived into sizes, the more I realized how some retailers let women down.

It’s no secret, I’m a big fan of lines, so This. It is a Pima cotton blend that also comes in solids in a choice of 42 sizes in sizes 2-26, regular, petite, tall and tall. plus sizes are here. It’s an impressive size range, and the color options are also pretty inclusive.

Unless it’s a specialty store, most retailers focus on the average-sized woman. This makes sense for them financially, but puts many women in a difficult position.

Nordstrom The store used to have a dedicated minion department. They removed it a few years ago and the product was mixed with everything else. They added little loops to the hanger so you can see them on the shelf, but honestly it doesn’t help because the sound isn’t there. It has the best selection online.

Talbots and J. Jill Carry lots of small and regular in-store selections with more online. Soguksu Stream They carry petite and plus, but they’ve closed all their physical stores, so everything is online.

Madewell carries petite, normal, tall, taller and plus. ann taylor offers regular, petite and some tall ones. J crew It offers regular, petite, tall and plus many more.
