Mini Knitwear Dress + Wool Coat // Abercrombie Petite

A short sweater dress has become a very important staple in my autumn wardrobe. I bought this in minions with no regrets as soon as I saw it in both black and cream as I couldn’t find it short enough to pull off the look I had in mind in years past. compared to mine Steve Madden sweater dressthese are simpler ribbed fake neck dresses, great for layering, while the SM is a thicker, chunky knit dress that I wear alone.

Petite, regular and tall

I love how small and versatile this is as an outfit base. I bought a size up to the petite XS as I prefer that my knitted dresses don’t fit too much on the stomach. It is a medium weight rib knit, not too thin. It has a relaxed fit with dropped shoulders and small hem slits on both sides. I read a review on this great run and really didn’t find that to be the case unless you’re looking for a comfortable dress. It feels very TTS and after sizing it the digit shift fits me. Mid-thigh looks great on me with boots that are short enough to be worn with flat boots and shoes and also longer boots.

For matching ideas, I wore this sweater dress as follows:

Blazer Mini Dress

Speaking of Schutz boots, I’ve had so many requests to “look for less” for this gorgeous shoe. Alice + Olivia blazer jumpsuit (only on sale) – see me too with bots in this blog post. I’ve been on the hunt for blazer mini dresses for years, so trust me when I say this style is VERY difficult to achieve in petite-friendly sizes.

I just tried this option In A&F and found the xxs minion quite appropriate. It’s as sharply sewn as Alice and Olivia, and the fabric isn’t luxurious, but it’s a quarter of the price plus a dress instead of a jumpsuit for those who prefer it. One review mentions the inside buttons that pull on the dress, but I’m trying again as I write this and it’s OK. If the dress fits too tight on the wearer’s hips, I can see how it can pull the buttons.

Wool Blended Blankets

Petite, normal and tall.

In these blanket coats, I tried both the shawl model and the button front models. True to the reviews and the “blanket” name, the wrap jacket runs big and really leans towards oversized cut styles. Unless you’re looking for a really large piece, I would recommend downsizing if possible.

I also tried the buttons Wool Blended Double Fabric Coat jacket (pictured above) that is the same color as the coat and fits a little better without being too big. After trying both, I still chose the wrap-around style as I love having that lace-up waist option for added warmth and additional coverage in the front. I bought it during a small sale a while ago, and if you’re interested in these coats, I suggest you wait for another promotion!
