Locker Room Diary: New Pieces by J. Jill

Happy Wednesday ladies. Today’s trial session has been shortened a bit because some of the things I’ve tried haven’t even reached their website yet and I can’t link to them. There were literally piles of unopened sweaters still in plastic bags on a few of the display tables, so it was fun to try new things.

If you’re new here, welcome. A locker room diary This is when I go to a local store and do a trial session to see what’s new and show you how it looks on a woman over 25. For reference, I’m 1.64″ tall and weigh about 142 pounds. I have broad shoulders, straight hips, a long torso, and long arms. I usually buy one size larger at the top. I want you to see it and get some style ideas.To help you understand how things work, I’ll tell you what sizes I wear.

J. Jill has made it easy to size each style so that it can normally be found in sizes XS-4X. The petite and tall models are still available in some popular styles, and all sizes are priced similarly.

This linen dress She came home with me to wear it exactly as you see it, not as a dress. I love such long leggings. The linen is crunchy and the color is a beautiful (almost pinkish) blue, fresh for spring. I will try tying it to wear as a dress and let you know how this works. XS stays true to size as it is tight and medium loose.

I’m wearing it on Pure Jill slender-legged plants. I chose the pith length so they wouldn’t be short on me with this long eraser. I love the soft knit fabric with 5% elastane so they don’t stretch. They come in four colors. This Round V-neck singlet a new favorite for me. It’s a thick knit that you can’t see through, which I always appreciate in white t-shirts. It comes in seven colors. I chose again what I missed here to get extra length over thin white trousers :). This L is too big for me but the white was running out fast and that was all they had.

I also tried the yellow dress on sale.

this cardigan too small for me; I think it was cutting off circulation to my arms :). This is a great little cotton-blend cardigan available in five colors and the perfect thing to ward off the cold in the spring and to cover your arms a bit. I love this length but I need a small one. This navy blue polka dot dress It has stitched pockets and a modest cut-out back. This size is too large for me and the website says it’s big, so I recommend going one size smaller. These two pieces are not part of the newest collection and were available in store but appear to be fully stocked online.

These comfortable pull-on jeans Have a fake pop with functional buttons so you can do a half curl and not realize it’s a pull-on style. Part of the limited edition Pure Jill Elements Collection, made from a recycled cotton blend. It expands and expands a bit like a boyfriend jean, so you can downsize. This textured sweater It comes in three great colors. It has fitted sleeves, I’m so happy to see brands re-launch them as they’re more flattering than the low shoulder.

This linen peasant top It is a lightweight linen popover style that comes in three bright colors. It has a slightly raised 3/4 sleeve with loose elastication at the cuff. The shirttail hem could be tucked in but I think it looks best. i have a few of these stripe sleeve A-line linen shirts. Leggings are a great classic for summer over tight pants or jeans. It comes in six colors. Linen curtains are beautiful. Note that this is not a fitted shirt; It’s a loose fit.

This maxi dress has two side seam pockets and a shallow v-neck at the front as well as at the back. The sleeves are called elbow length, but they’re not that long for me. The cotton/Tencel/spandex blend is nice and durable, so it’s not sticky. It also comes with a small floral print. This is a lightweight A-line shape, but can be easily girded to provide some shaping.

These are both modern linen stretch pants with a slit. I assumed I would prefer the tunic top with lighter trousers. But when I look at the photos, I prefer black trousers for the cologne color effect because the tunic seemed incomplete and long to me. These great pants are pull style with an elastic back waistband and woven spandex. They come in five solids and a strip.tunic skin color is embroidered black. The A-line shape is very forgiving and the soft fabric is nice and draping. The first review on it says they didn’t like it as they thought it could be used as a jacket. Hmmm… not the fault of the summit, but the reviewer misinterpreted his order. Please read multiple reviews and consider the context of the item description.

Here is another one of these Pima round v-neck singlets. This small is significantly shorter than the L but fits me much better… I ordered a medium white one :). This color is dried sage. cardigan It is called cream multi which coordinates beautifully with this colorful tee. Also white, black etc. looks great on. A bit like a chameleon. The open weave provides arm protection without added warmth, so it will be very useful this spring. It also has 3/4 sleeves. boyfriend jeans Made from a super soft blend of 70% cotton, 14% Tencel, 14% polyester and 2% elastane. These aren’t baggy boyfriend jeans, they’re just loose enough to be comfortable and casual. The rise is medium but not too low for me and I have a long torso. The miss length would have been a little higher, but they were sold in my size so I ordered it.
