How to Wear an Unstructured Blazer Over 50

Good Friday ladies. For 50+ Fashion Edits this month, Cindy and I style blazers. I’m a big fan of blazer jackets because of the strong expression they make and the polish they give to an outfit. As our lifestyles become more relaxed, an unstructured blazer becomes a great option since it’s all about comfort. Today I am sharing over 50 how to wear an unstructured blazer.

What is an unstructured blazer? A lightweight, soft and reshaped jacket with minimal or no lining and no shoulder pads. It is the most comfortable blazer style and is usually oversized. Most of the latest releases are knit, which looks like a cross between a cardigan and a blazer.

This unstructured blazer is a soft Italian recycled wool blend with a notched collar and one button fastening. External patch pockets further reduce the level of formality. It comes in 3 colors, from 0-20, normal, tall and petite. The website says it’s a little big but it’s not on me, so I suggest ordering your regular size. I normally wear 10.

What to wear with an unstructured blazer

Women’s blazers will always be in fashion because they have become a wardrobe staple for most of us. Since the unstructured blazer is naturally casual, they look great when worn with jeans. There is enough formality to dress up, so try wearing it over a simple dress, chino, knit pants or blouse and skirt.

I paired mine with this super soft long turtleneck sweater. The fabric is a blend of breathable fibers from certified renewable wood sources. Available in 6 colors, regular and petite size XXS-XL. I’m wearing a small regular. The website calls this color white, but it’s softer and more like winter white.
