I have been looking for a long cut shorts all summer and I must say these are a home run!! I love that they have a polished look on the front with a zipper and button opening and also the comfort of the stretch waistband on the back. The mid-thigh length is an elegant change from my short shorts and the fabric is a comfortable, lightweight and flowy material that can be worn up or down. I’m partnering with Nordstrom to share 2 ways to shape them and a few new finds that will make a good run for next season.
1. Dress Up // Tank + blazer + belt + sandals
I would only pair these shorts with this for my everyday casual look. classic ribbed tank (great foundation! not too short) plus a waist belt and flat sandals or sneakers. But wear a comfortable blazer and sandals or heels and the look is transformed into a stylish one for dinner or a smart casual event. If you missed my review of this blazer jacket last month, keep in mind that it’s definitely longer and many petite shoppers might prefer it. shorter version. I kept the longer one because I found the length more versatile for the mostly smart casual outfits I’ve been wearing lately, but the shorter version would have been easier to pair for business casual looks.
2. Dressed Down // Buttoned shirt + flat sandals
My photos here don’t really capture the feminine French-chic details that set this button-down shirt apart from the regular. It has elegant ruffles along the neckline, fabric-covered buttons in the middle and sleeve cuffs, and a pinstripe textured fabric.
It’s a light and airy blouse so the sleeves are slightly puffed up and don’t feel too bulky, and the material is soft enough to knot comfortably in the front. I am convinced by the 5-star reviews to get both colors and I can see that each one has worn off a lot!
