How to Style Petite Cream + Black Leather Leggings

petite Topshop cream faux leather leggings

I received my anniversary sale order this week and there are several items that fit better than I expected! I’m still waiting for these nice pumps (only a few left in each size) and a handful of other things, but as soon as I wore them I had to hop on IG to admire these leather-look pants. These could be my Nsale this year and are two pieces that I know will reach all Fall through Spring. If you find the idea of wearing leather tights daunting, styling them is a lot easier than you might think and instantly makes a straight tights outfit more stylish.

one. Topshop Leather Leggings (under $45; 2 colors)

Moreover regular sizing

I have a small collection of leather-like leggings and these are one of the best fit and most supple and soft compared to others. They look like luxury leather pants and are more substantial in weight than a typical tights, so you don’t have to worry about pairing them with a long top to cover your crotch. A wide elastic band on the inside of the waist that is comfortable sitting for a few hours (I forgot I was wearing them) and visually pinching the waist for a very flattering look.

It’s really “buttery soft” as it feels, not at all plastic or squeaky like some fake materials and they have an even softer, lightweight fleece lining inside.

Placement: The petite length (5ft tall) is perfect for me to pair with sneakers and booties. As with most Topshop items, I recommend going one size up – I’m usually 00P with other brands and these are a snug fit at 0P. At just under $45, great value for the sale price! Although the color looks white in the first photo above, it is a real cream that will look great when combined with camel, gray and dark blue.

2. Long Halogen Blazer

Also a short style

This is a lightweight flowy blazer made from a beautiful crepe-like material to look polished without being too formal. The body of this blazer is quite long, the sleeves are gathered and the length is petite-friendly. I would prefer this to be a few inches shorter, but because of the draped material, it doesn’t look or feel as long as it does in a more structured traditional blazer fabric. This is unlined with lightly padded shoulders and is an easy piece to throw over jeans or leggings in addition to work wear.

I wanted to show you how this outfit can be easily swapped out for a pair of flat booties for everyday wear in the fall, or strappy sandals for a date or girls’ night out!

3. Short Halogen blazer

This was as petite-friendly as I had hoped, the shirred sleeves came in full length for me. The point where the waist comes in and its overall length are shorter than the long version which makes this one better proportioned for shorter girls. The sleeves are a little wide for me, but the light liquid fabric helps it look like a regular cut.

4. Topshop Minion Moto Jacket (under $60)

I already own the previous year version of this jacket so I bought this one to try, to see if it has changed. I’m happy to report that the slim-fit cut is just as good as before and is another great value for the petite as you won’t need to shorten any hems or shorten the sleeves. This jacket is a medium weight weight with a slightly matte, pebbly finish and looks nice in person.

Placement: Topshop’s UK size is always slightly smaller than US size, so 0P is similar to 00 petite in US brands.

5. BP waffle knit sweater

Textured braids make great layering staples and this is medium weight with a pretty slim cut and half cropped length. I have sized it up to XS and keep this one, but I could probably size another one up for a looser fit! They fit better than adults with cream leather leggings above and a pair of kids joggers I bought 2 years ago below.
