How to Style Performance White Shirts

Happy Tuesday ladies. A classic white shirt is not a must in every woman’s wardrobe, but mine has always been a favourite. It’s one of my default looks that I feel confident wearing in most situations. For Our Monthly Editing More Than 50 Styles, Cindy and I share our ideas on how to rock a white shirt and decided to research how to style performance white shirts.

If you’ve ever wondered what to wear with a performance white shirt… the answer is anything you like. The oversized ones even double as a swimsuit cover in summer and a light jacket in fall.

I prefer my white shirts to be unironed because they travel well and look more vibrant. This month I’m trying some performance fabric white shirts because they combine form and function. They are designed to keep the wearer comfortable, outperform other fabrics, and look great doing it. Athleta is known for its performance fabrics, and their style isn’t just for athletics.

A classic shape is great, but a white shirt with unique details is always a plus in my wardrobe. I caught my eye on this white pleated back top Been from Altheta for a while and finally decided to give it a try. Wowza, do I love it!

This shirt is pretty self-explanatory, super comfortable and perfect for travel. It is made of a breathable fabric with a UPF (sun protection factor) of 50 and is also water repellent! I downsized it to XS because it’s big and I think I could wear the smaller one too. It also comes in teal or black. I ordered the teal but this white had no pizazz so it was immediately returned.

It pairs well with tight jeans and trousers or leggings. The back (your assets) covers everything, but the front isn’t that tall… depending on your height, choose accordingly. I love the sporty half zip and the lively fabric keeps the collar looking nice. i wear with mine Banana Republic straight leg jeans currently 40% off and my favorite Paul Green platform sneakers These are beyond comfortable.

By the way, I decided to give this a try. oversized poplin shirt. It’s also made of performance fabric with UPF 50+ for excellent sun protection, breathable and waterproof; they are all made from recycled polyester from post-consumer plastic bottles. It’s a large size so I ordered an XS and again I could probably wear the smaller one too. In a plus size shirt, size isn’t that important, so I’d rather have less room.

This shirt will be a real chameleon in my wardrobe that I can style in multiple ways. Here I wear it tied to my waist Maeve faux leather products. I am really happy that I bought these pants because they are so comfortable. My boots are much older than Eileen Fisher. similar here.

My collection of white shirts is quite large, but there is always room for unique ones. Oxyclean is useful for keeping whites clean, but honestly, nothing works that well. Miss Stuart is upset. Remember to dilute before use or it will turn your shirts blue… ask me how I know 🙂
