An interesting question came to the NYT from a reader wondering if they could express their personalities at work… We’ve discussed this a lot in the past but not recently, so I thought it would be a fun discussion today.

I’ll be interning in a corporate setting this summer, and I’m wondering if you have any tips for dressing for work while continuing to showcase my personality. I don’t want to make big fashion mistakes, but I don’t want to look like a drone either. — Erica, Berkeley, California.

The best approach is the strategic one. Start by playing some bland and observing those around you and what they’re wearing. This will give you an idea of ​​the corporate values ​​and how you can expand it in your own way. Then you can stick your finger in.
