Cheers to everyone who came through Friday – woo hoo! Hope everyone has a great holiday, I hope the snow doesn’t affect anyone’s travels too much.

If you’re looking for a fun, light read in the romantic comedy genre, I highly recommend all of Ali Hazelwood’s books. Last, Love in the Brain, laughing out loud is funny. The protagonist is a career-focused neuroscientist (purple haired, of course) who has to work with an old nemesis from high school when asked to lead a neuroengineering project by NASA. (She’s also a staunch feminist with a secret Twitter account called “What would Marie Curie do?” where she answers questions from STEM women who face discrimination and general patriarchal bullshit.)

Spoiler alert: his former graduate nemesis is tall and handsome… and there may have been some misunderstandings.

There’s a lot of quick dialogue, feminism, neuroscience and a bit of spying – it was really fun and I highly recommend it. (Definitely one of my favorites of the year.)

The author has a PhD. a professor in neuroscience and apparently; He has lived in Italy, Germany, Japan and the USA. He writes under a pseudonym.
