Fashion Only Middle Age Women Wear

[ad_1]

Good Friday ladies. I often talk about classic, timeless fashions. Plain cardigan, white shirt, flats, loafers, trench coat and straight cut trousers stand the test of time. They look as current today as they did 20 years ago. Boho fashion has timeless foundations such as preppy and traditional styles. Today I just want to talk about some fashions worn by middle-aged women.

This issue has been on my mind for months. My goal is not to persuade you to stop wearing something you love, but to become aware of the messages they send.

Fashion that puts women in an identifiable age range is not ageless, timeless or modern. The best example I can think of for a garment that does this is capri pants. I’m not talking about short pants, I’m talking about capris that sit at the widest part of your calf.

Unfortunately, they only seem to proliferate at retailers that cater to middle-aged women. Joyful never see them on young women or children… unlike puff sleeves and ruffles, all women are chowing down on this season.

We can say that silk scarves and brooches came out with us, because not all women adopted these accessories. And you would have a point. Except they’re worn by some of the most stylish women in history. No Carpi pants.

Wearing timeless means choosing clothes that highlight our best sides and deftly camouflage those we don’t want to draw attention to. There are many body parts we would prefer to cover up, given our age, but I would love to see us do it in styles that people can’t fit in an age range.

I don’t have a problem with my age, I just want to look like the best version of myself and dress in a way that keeps me visible and modern.

I admit that I find capri pants one of the most unpleasant garments a woman can wear, so I have a clear bias.

And yes, we have earned the right to wear what we want until this age. So if you love capris, by all means wear them with pride. Just be aware that they are “age appropriate” and visually put you in a separate age category.

Let’s talk about that. What are your thoughts?

Thanks for reading and don’t forget to wear what feels good to you. joyful feel confident.
