Even though I consider myself a bit of a shopper after all this time, knee-high boots are undoubtedly still one of the hardest pieces for someone with my body type. Over the course of my ten years of blogging, it has been a style of unicorn that is often requested and rarely off the shelf. I always knew there was a style I wanted to develop for Edited Pieces, but that didn’t make the process any less daunting.
A while ago, a few thousand of you kindly removed your measuring strips and helped me fill out a survey on boots. The fit demands varied greatly: tight calf, wide calf, narrow ankles, wide soles, long foot sizes, slender and long legs, short and wide legs, and every combination in between.
For our first launch, I ultimately decided to focus on the most requested fit from our survey results. After countless sample rounds and fit testing, I’m so excited to share. timeless knee-high boot with shorter shank + slimmer calf. When stepping into the world of bots, I started with a pair I already own – a pair with many positive customer reviews and quality records. I worked backwards to research where they were made and it turned out to be a small factory specializing in boots for over a decade. Together we went through the details and tried to develop a new style with everything I could want in a boat but couldn’t find:
- Generously padded insoles
- Flexible, non-slip sole
- Perfect 2.5 inch high fixed block heel
- Zipper along inner ankle area for easier on and off
- Silicone tape along inner top opening to help prevent spindle from sliding down
- Made using high quality vegan suede that stretches a bit
- Timeless almond shaped toe

All sizes 4 – 9. If you buy a half size or typically find yourself between two sizes, expand out of them.

Black and Brown harmony
Since the boots are produced in bulk, we found that after fit testing our current set of black colors will run. thinner in the calf and narrower in standing compared to the brown color. This will be adjusted for possible future stocks, but I wanted to emphasize that for this droplet.
For clients with very thin calves and narrow feet, we recommend this range of black boots.
My Body In This Style
For those who are used to referring to my size for comparison, I’m 5 feet tall and usually wear a 5, sometimes 5.5 on US brands. My calf measures approximately 12.5 inches around its widest point.
In brown, someone my size can get size 5 for a snug fit with thin socks, or size 6, which fits more loosely on the foot but can take thick socks. If your feet are not narrow, I would prefer a larger one. I chose size 6 because the black color is narrower on both feet and calves.
Below are the measurements in inches and be aware that the material flexes. It stretches comfortably about an inch wider than the calf measurement listed.
