I stopped by the Loft earlier this week to see what’s new for spring. There were less frills and frills than I expected and lots of great everyday pieces in beautiful colors. Loft is offering 30% off full price until September 11. Before these images, I was wearing a sock hat for a particularly cold Bocce game, so my hair is unusually messy.
If you’re new here, welcome. A locker room diary This is when I go to a local store for a trial session to see what’s new and how it looks on a woman over 25. For reference, I’m 5’4″ tall and weigh about 142 pounds. I have broad shoulders, straight hips, a long torso, and long arms. I usually buy a top size larger. I want you to see what’s in stores and get some style ideas.To help you understand how things work, I tell you what sizes I wear.
These Riviera skinny pants It comes in nine colors, regular (straight), curvy, petite, long and regular length. These have a 24″ inseam, but I prefer my pants a little longer than that, so I wear a regular length with a 27″ inseam. Customers favorite trousers in a medium-weight cotton/rayon/spandex blend that you can wear for work or for the weekend. This Dolman sleeve shirt is 100% cotton and has a pleated hemline for wearing in or out. It comes in small or regular length.
STYLE TIP- Curved or shirttail hems help make your hips look narrower. A flat butt visually expands the hips, drawing the eye to the side.
These pull-on linen blend trousers It will be super cool in hot weather. I love the ease of pulling style. They come in regular, petite, and tall, sizes XXS-XXL, in blue chambray or this khaki. Wide-leg pants aren’t going anywhere in the near future, and the easiest way to wear them is to use a light, comfortable fabric. super soft top It is from the Lou & Gray collection. A buttery soft blend of three colors in sizes XXS-XXL. I finished this with a classic white denim jacket as a minion. Wider trousers look best with a shorter top, and short or hip-length denim jackets are perfect for this.
These belted striped trousers It has a super comfortable, cotton/linen/spandex blend with nice stretch. The strip is hard to see here, but it’s a narrow blue and white. They are regular, petite and tall. This is perfect for me to wear with petite white complexions or flat sandals. These fit the hips more than the wide-legs on the top, so they may be an easier way to keep up with the wide-leg trend.
These Monroe slim chino A great casual pants for summer. It is a cotton/spandex blend that comes in eight colors, regular (plain), crimped, regular and petite sizes 00-18. I shape them with one classic chambray shirt I tied it around the waist for comfort. I love the brown/soft green color combination for spring. The shirt comes in regular and petite XXS-XXL.
Here is some mystery. The hem of these jeans I tried is unfinished, but that’s not what I found on the website. I’m also on my toes because these are too long for me. i like your fit Loft’s wide leg jeans and wear my jeans often.
These high rise kick plants With a 26 1/2″ inseam, it will be full length on most of us. It is a very popular shape in Loft and it comes tons of washes. I paired them with this patterned shell with a subtle neck ruffle and tie. Here is one long sleeve option a patterned top in a beautiful pink combination. These are a lightweight rayon that floats above your shape.
Here wide leg linen blend trousers in a wonderful green for spring. The lighting has gotten a little weird in this photo, and in person they look more like a soft laugh. I tucked the white shirt inside these pants so you can see the waistline better. You can easily add a wider belt and the belt loops adapt.
I wouldn’t put this combination together, but here you go. I would probably wear a soft white blouse or t-shirt under this blazer and white jeans or pants. jacket It’s a size too big for me, so it stays true to size. It is a narrow, pale blue and white strip of cotton/spandex blend. Sutton skinny pants are a customer favorite in four colors: regular, petite, regular (straight), long and curvy. They come up to the waist in cotton/polyester/elastane. I would love these with pants and a big white shirt worn over white skin.
Here is an interesting comparison. Obviously I prefer the right-hand look, but many people like the loose and comfortable option. These are the same wide trousers I showed in the other 2 colors. this striped shirt It is a pink and white striped body with orange and white striped sleeves, shoulders, collars and pockets. It comes in regular and petite XXS-XL.

My store looked like a new collection was being released so I’ll have to revisit next week and see what’s new.
