Happy Tuesday ladies. I was happy to pop into Talbots yesterday and try out some of their latest collections. The leopard print has always been on trend, but this fall it’s being pushed aside by the zebra and tiger. Here’s my early fall trial session at Talbots with lots of zebras.
If you’re new here, welcome. The locker room diary is when I go to a local store for a trial session so you can see what’s new and how it looks on a woman over 25. For reference, I’m 5’4″ tall and weigh about 134lbs. I have flat hips, broad shoulders, a long torso, and long arms. I usually go a size up on the top. I want you to see and get some style ideas.To help you understand how things work, I tell you what sizes I wear.

This cotton zebra print blouse it looks brown and white, but is actually a deep moss and ivory. Since the fabric is very light, you can wear it on very hot days. It comes in kidnapping, minion, plus and plus minion. I’m wearing a petite medium size and the sleeves are a little too short so it stays true to size. This would be a great transitional piece to wear when the date says it’s dropping and your temperatures are sweltering. I wear it on the left with my white, high waist straight leg jeans What I wear to enter the store
The shirt looks good with white jeans but better with natural jeans on the right. These comfortable jeans It has a straight leg and a high rise in natural color. You can round the bottom and have a miss stitch: 27″; petite: 24 1/2″; plus: 27″; plus petite: 24 1/2″. I’m wearing 6 petite rolls, so the inseam is 26″. V-neck cardigan very good! I love the pointelle knit and the beautiful v-neckline. It comes in four colors, miss, petite, plus and plus petite. I’m wearing a petite M that fits perfectly.
Here is the shaker vest I shared yesterday’s OOTW. It comes in three colors, concise and petite. My store is almost petite so the ladies are jumping on these. I wear a medium petite that fits me, but I would probably go for the miss and get an extra inch long. I like a simple tee to keep the look casual. high waist jeans the whites on the left are the same as mine, this time in a pale Vista wash…curved fit here. Straight legs are slim but not skinny, much more comfortable and on-trend than skinny jeans that look like they’ve been spray-painted. on the right Chatham Ankle pants in stunning Zebra. They miss and come petite. I’m wearing 6 singlets that are too big and too long, so the hem is folded up. The Chatham trousers are a client favourite, with a beautiful side zipper and a lovely high waist, double stretch cotton blend.
Here is the black vest. I like the casual look of the poplin shirt that shows up under the vest, but you can easily tuck it in if you prefer a more button-down look. These Portland trousers are Talbots’ modern slim-fit riding trousers made from stretch, double-weave technology fabric and fit like a dream! they come in misses and petite here, plus and plus minions are here. I’m wearing 6 without folded under the skirt. Inseams-Miss: 28″; Petite: 25 1/2″; Plus: 28″; Plus Petite: 25 1/2″
this fun sweater As graphic as possible for zebra 🙂 Misses is a 3/4 sleeve cotton/rayon blend in petite, plus and petite. I’m wearing a petite M and I think it’s a bit small so it’s a size up. My picture makes it look greenish but it’s a camel color. I paired it with cotton/spandex zebra print skirt. Too much?! Campy has a place in many women’s wardrobes, so we should never judge. Skirt misses come in petite, plus and plus petite. Lengths Abduction: 19″; Petite: 18 1/2″; Plus: 21″; Plus Petite: 20″. I wear 6 petite and would probably prefer the extra 1/2″ that the misses give. goes well with these Portland pants in black.
I’m used to loose and shapeless cargo pants, but these are nice slim fit and Invisiflex comfort stretch waistband at the back. They come in 4 colors, miss, petite, plus and petite. I wear deep moss at 6P. this sleeveless shell sweater Reminds me of a vest. It comes in missing, petite, and plus XS-XL. A mix of colors that will go well with almost any color. I’m wearing a petite M. Band collar jean jacket It has a slightly playful waist seam with the peplum, which has a more feminine shape than many denim jackets. Missing, petite, plus and petite come in XS-XL. I’m wearing a misss M.
this anorak A great piece for any time of the year and the perfect length to cover up a great tight 🙂 The jacket is water resistant and features a two-way zipper with an internal drawstring, drawstring hood and front pockets to add styling. It comes in three major neutrals, evasion, minion, and plus. I’m wearing Misses S. leggings On the slimming side is cotton/spandex with this fun stripe. They come in misses, petite, plus and plus petite, I wear a misses M and always wear tights because “drowned” is not a feeling I like.
