Dressing Room Diaries- Talbots Holiday

It’s the season of all things velvet, sparkle, glitter and chic. If your lifestyle is overly casual like mine, you may not have many opportunities to dress in festive style. That shouldn’t stop you from enjoying the fun stuff, so today’s looks include subtle ways to enjoy party-type details without being partyy.

If you’re new here, welcome. A locker room diary This is when I go to a local store for a trial session to see what’s new and how it looks on a woman over 25. For reference, I’m 5’4″ tall and weigh about 134 pounds. I have broad shoulders, straight hips, a long torso, and long arms. I usually buy one size larger at the top. You’ll find that I try on clothes in colors and shapes that may or may not like me. I want you to see what’s in stores and get some style ideas.To help you understand how things work, I tell you what sizes I wear.

I tried this dress in petite first but the waist seam was too high on my torso so this regular dress is a better option for me. This would be great for a nice outfit to wear for the party season or for dinner out. It has a slightly retro feel to it in a thick ponte knit that you can dress very stylishly or shrink down depending on your accessories and shoes.

These straight leg stretch corduroy trousers come in ten colors, this is the classic red. They are super soft and 2% spandex makes them very comfortable. cashmere sweater It is a 3/4 sleeve crew neck. Normally I can wear small inside sweaters, but this one is tight for me, so it feels tight. It is a mixture of red and pink on a black background. plaid shirt It has small black polka dots interspersed with a cotton/rayon blend. It would be cute with a black skirt for a casual holiday party.

This quilted velvet jacket has a detachable faux fur collar. I’m not sure I like your outfit here, but the jacket is pretty cute.

Here’s a comfortable way to wear sequins… like a tuxedo stripe on the side of your jeans! these jeans having a very high waist and perfectly straight legs. The sequins are dark blue, but you can coordinate them with any color. I paired these with this tulle dot sleeve top this could go to a party or the grocery store…why not? It also comes in ivory. this faux fur vest It has a drawstring at the waist to keep it tight. The fur has a quilted pattern, but I found the small look bulky.

this skirt it also gives me retro vibes and the color is so fun! I would pair it with a tiny tan kitten heel. It would also be fun with a black turtleneck, black tights and black shoes. The petite is a full 3″ shorter, I think that would have been a lot better for me.

For those who can’t wear wool, this fair island sweater a winner. It is a synthetic blend that is machine washable, super soft and has a luxurious feel. I paired them straight leg corduroy trousers with the classic 5-pocket denim style. The pants have six colors, I wear black.

This fair island sweater contains a small amount of wool, and this comes in candy-colored or pink to red. I matched it with the same corduroy pants and added this ivory moto jacket. It’s a warm jacket, but more like a blazer than a warm jacket.

Same sweater as above, this time with a matching scarf and portland pants. These are 6 petite and with these slim riding pants, I personally prefer 6 misses for extra length. They come in six colors, this is caramel. there is also one coordination hat and gloves to finish off the harmonious/harmonious mountain air.

Here are the same sequined side stripe jeans as above, this time paired with a velvet shirt and faux fur vest in the same deep indigo with sequins on the jeans. this shirt it also comes in a rich garnet shade which is stunning. They call it a tunic but only 1″ longer than their shirt which is not a tunic to me. faux fur vest It’s also deep indigo, fully lined, and has all-important (for me) pockets. Cute and warm but not heavy.
