Dressing Room Diaries – Rich Browns at Chico’s

Good Friday ladies. Before I went on vacation, I stopped by Chico’s to see what their newest collection has in store. There’s a lot of mixing and matching in today’s post as the collection is beautifully coordinated.

If you’re new here, welcome. Locker room diary, when I go to a local store for a trial session, you can see what’s new and how it looks on a woman over 25. They have broad shoulders and straight hips. I have a long torso and long arms so I usually buy tops one size up. I try on clothes in colors and shapes that may or may not pamper me so you can see what’s in store and get some style ideas.

Chico’s sizing may seem confusing, but it’s actually pretty simple. Most brands only go up to size 12 or 14, and if you’re bigger, you’re out of luck… unless of course they’re producing plus sizes, which are a lot less these days. Chico’s sizes 000(0/XS), (0/2– XS), 0 (4/6 S), 1 (8/10-M), 2 (12-14)-L, 3 (16/18-XL) 4 (20/22-XXL. Chico’s also carries many outfits petite and some tall. I’ll tell you what I’m wearing in Chico’s sizes so you can understand how things work.

This paisley sweater It fits nicely and is very soft. The colors are fun and the V is a modest depth that I’ve always appreciated. I’m seeing a lot of boyfriend jeans in stores this season. They have a very comfortable (loose) fit across the hips and thighs. these come in 3 washes. I wear a Chico’s 0, which is the equivalent of 4/6 and my usual size. This size is too loose for me because my hips are very flat. If you have a curvy body type, your normal size should be very comfortable and fit you well. The fabric is a soft blend of 75% cotton, 10% polyester, 4% lyocell and 1% spandex. Inside seams are 27″ regular (25.5″ when single rolled) and 30″ tall (28.5″ when single rolled.

Here are boyfriend jeans that are one size smaller, the equivalent of 2 sizes, and slim them down significantly. It also shortens them so I can open the skirts. These are a black/grey wash. I’m not a size 2 in anything so these go big and you can downsize for a slimmer fit. I’m a big fan of Chico’s non-iron fabrics that rarely need a touch up. This It features vibrant-looking contrast piping on the collar and an interlocking C monogram on the cuff. I don’t know what the normal and inserted shape of the website means. My tag said 1 (8/10) normal and the sleeves are slightly cropped.

this crossbody bag The moment I saw the screen it caught my attention. The heavy chain detail has been very popular on bags for several seasons. The nice thing about this quilted bag is that both the chain handle and the canvas shoulder strap are removable to customize it however you like. It has several interior compartments and is large enough to carry some.

I read that brown is going to be very popular this fall and I found it a lot at Chico’s. This rib knit sweater it comes in four colors, I am wearing Cocoa bean which is a cool toned brown. It’s super soft and has fun directional grooves that add fine texture. I reduced the mold to 4/6 because it is wide. i wear straight legs describe me jeans in a dove gray color that looks more like taupe than gray to me. It is a super soft cotton blend with 10% spandex! They normally come in 3 colors with inseams in 27″ and 30″ tall.

faux leather float it comes in light oak (bone) or cherry brown (brown). I like the meaningful names of colors, but since my pictures are blurry and taken in a small dressing room, I thought it might help to explain what I saw. I’m wearing 1 (8/10) so it runs TTS.

This is girlfriend jeans Get slim, straight legs from a super soft, stretchy cotton blend. They come in this cocoa bean or black. I’m wearing a regular 00 (in Chico’s size) and they’re a little comfortable but not uncomfortable because they stretch a lot. Inside seams are 31″ regular, 28″ petite and 34″ tall. I wear them with one animal print ponte knit tunic. It’s 30″ long so it will cover your back if you want to wear it with leggings or slim, knit pants. It has gold buttons on the sleeves.

Here paisley sweater with dove gray jeans and faux leather tongs in light oak. I love how these pale colors are taken on the sweater for a colorful yet overall soft look.

Chico’s non-iron fabrics are so good, they’re great for travelling. this shirt The black/cocoa bean animal print combination is called “saddle”. It has full length sleeves and a slim shirttail hemline that looks nice tucked in or unbuttoned. I combined it with coco jeans and this black long ponte knit jacket. The coat is petite and comes regularly. The petite is 29″ tall and the regular 31″ tall. I’m wearing the regular 1 which is a bit jarring to me so if I wasn’t going to wear it over long tunics, I would have preferred the petite one.

Here sycamore wash boyfriend jeans They’re in 00R size, which personally suits my shape better, but they’re probably supposed to be looser :). I paired them with this super soft and cozy v-neck sweater with big polka dots. I almost didn’t try this polka dot top on. I was afraid the points would be in strange places, if you know what I mean, but they are strategically well placed and I brought this home. The weight is perfect to cover the seasons and I love the combination of blue and black. I chose 1 for extra space on the shoulders. Here same sweater in vintage saddle with small snaps.

I’m a big fan of pull-on denim jeggings. They’re super comfortable, don’t have a zipper or button to take my tops out, and with the waistband closed, they look completely like regular jeans. These have a nice super dark wash for fall. The little one has a 27″ inseam and normal length is here 29″ with inseam. this ombre crew neck tunic over them are shades ranging from deep navy blue to turquoise to pale aqua. Super lightweight and great for layering. I think these colors would look great on brown jeans or trousers too.
