It’s a surreal feeling to finally share with you a project that took years and a little labor of love! I started this blog over a decade ago as a creative outlet, posting my trials and errors while learning how to wear my body type. As a recent college grad working in a male-dominated field, creating a cabinet of polished, well-fitting pieces has always been about more than just shopping. Dressing well builds confidence, brings some joy into my day, and helps me do my best to get others to take me seriously.
As my style needs and tastes have evolved over these years, I have kept a constant list of classic pieces that I want to add to my wardrobe but struggle to find the right fit or quality. I also kept a close eye on the types of pieces that I get most frequent reader requests for, but rarely find.
And so Edited Parts, we start small. We make small adjustments to timeless styles that we will want to wear for years. Each style is either handmade or produced in limited quantities in small factories and undergoes numerous sampling and testing processes. We’ve got extensive metrics, pain points, and information from YOU, from a detailed survey you helped thousands fill out 2 years ago, to wonderful readers in Boston who helped with fit testing for every piece and shared their feedback. .
For several reasons I wanted to keep the initials of Extra Petite’s EP in the brand name. First, while everything we do will be petite-friendly, we just didn’t want it to feel petite. Every body is truly different and comes in different proportions that we hope to be able to accommodate as we grow. Secondly, as a nod to this blog, my first passion project turned into a career and it connected me to this incredible community. Thank you for being here along the way and helping me make this dream come true.
