Casual Christmas Dresses

It’s a lot of fun to dress up and celebrate the season, but if you’re like me, more and more you find the celebration casual. Holiday parties at friends’ or neighbors’ houses seem like the order of the day for most of us, so I’m sharing some comfortable Christmas outfits with flat shoes.

this necklace It quickly became a favorite as I was able to adjust the length. I like to wear it long over sweaters and when I want it to fill a collar I can slide it through the loop twice to shorten the chain. earrings Dean Davidson’s new silver laying hoops. There is a little shimmering pave at the back of the hoop, so they’re great for every day or dress up.

Soft shades of ivory and gray are a great alternative to black and dark colors this time of year. Most faux leather is black or brown so I was happy to come across it this graphite pair. They have straight legs that don’t look like they’ve been sprayed, which I like because of the shine. If gray isn’t your thing, they also come in brown or black.

I paired them with a pale gray and ivory v-neck top with a silver stripe. The sleeves are softly gathered and translucent but the bodice is fully lined so I did not need a camisole. I love the subtle sheen of silver in this print, which is festive but not overdone.

These Margaux Demi flats It is simple and does not tire the feet. They come in sixteen colors, narrow, medium and wide, in sizes 5-14. I wear Dove wide. I bought this brand a few years ago from Travel and Entertainment brought together the most comfortable flats on the market and this “demi” flats took the first place in the category.

I completed the outfit with a light cardigan gray heather. This cardigan has too many colors to count and I wear it year-round. It’s a soft merino/acrylic blend that’s easy to throw on most things and doesn’t feel too warm to wear inside. It currently comes in eight colors and they come out with new shades every season.

Here’s another casual outfit I can pull out of the closet if we get a more festive invitation for Christmas or New Year’s. Black jeans, stretchy sequined top and super cozy velvet flats. The top is also in ivory white, which can be fun with a pair of white jeans and these flats

Honestly, if we’re at someone’s house for a party, I feel overdone in heels, so casual shoes are my favorite way to dress…plus my feet are so much happier at the end of the night.

my black jeans It’s new, so it’s very dark, but if jeans aren’t your style, you can always replace ponte pants or something with stretch. The holidays are when I take off my grandma’s earrings that sparkle enough with this top.

Velvet Birds

These Velvet Birds I feel like slippers. They’re my go-to apartment for anything this time of year. They run wide, so they may not work for women with narrow feet. They have plenty of room on the toes and they never pinch my bunions!
