The weather was bright and sunny, but cool enough for a cashmere sweater, faux suede pants, and a favorite scarf. Spring, sweater and scarf weather is my favorite season. One day I had errands and at work what I wore.

October is breast cancer awareness month, so it’s appropriate that I also got my mammogram yesterday. My mother had breast cancer and was lucky enough to be able to treat her with lumpectomy and radiation. As we know, not many women are that lucky. To be honest, my mother died of Hep C a few years later, so we don’t know if her cancer has come back.

I’m always afraid of getting a mammogram, and you? Not because it was uncomfortable, but because I held my breath from the day of the test until the day I got the results.

They scared me last year when they decided something didn’t seem quite right and I needed another test to take a closer look. My insurance company refused to pay for it for weeks, resulting in absolutely sleepless nights. They finally paid, I had an MRI and everything was normal, but wow.

As you know, I love pearls. Real, fake, south sea, freshwater, baroque… all add an elegant touch to any outfit. It felt appropriate to wear my new bracelet from T.Freshwater Pearl Company. A small startup founded by a young man to keep his mother’s legacy alive after losing his valiant battle with breast cancer.

this bracelet It is made of 14-15mm freshwater baroque pearls and is available in white, natural, silver or dark gray pearls. I am wearing white. It also has a removable pendant that you can hang on any necklace, a fun way to mix things up.

A few of her earrings go well with this bracelet. Amosa, halay, Akoni, and Dion. To be honest, I heard a rumor that they are going to make a big matching baroque necklace and it has my name all over it 🙂

Thanks for reading, and don’t forget to get your mammogram and wear whatever makes you feel safe.
