Can You Wear a Cardigan Over Another Sweater?

I like to wear a nice sweater with jeans, but sometimes it’s nice to layer something on top to create a slightly sleeker or more finished look. A jacket can work as long as it doesn’t look too heavy or harsh. What about another braid? Can you wear a cardigan over another sweater? Definitely yes! Take a look.

Layered braids are a great way to create a casual chic look, but you need the right pieces to get started. This soft, flowy rusty cardigan is a great layering piece for many reasons. It ticks all the boxes when it comes to styling sweaters with cardigans. E.g:

1. Keep Your Cardigan Thin and Light

When you start with a sweater that already has some weight and texture, you don’t add anything too thick and heavy on it. Your layer piece should be relatively thin and light. That’s why I chose this rust color cardigan pass over me Brown funnel neck sweater.

My brown sweater is medium weight and if I wore a thick cardigan over it, I would look pretty muscular, plus I would sweat to death! An oversized cardigan is definitely a trendy look, but a cardigan that’s too big or too small for you is an understated look. If you are wearing an oversized cardigan as a fashion statement, make sure that the sweater you wear under your cardigan fits well.

It is a mixture of oversize and oversize that creates a stylish look, not oversize. Long cardigans can also be tricky when you’re wearing a sweater instead of a T-shirt or blouse underneath. Two sweaters and long layers can weigh you down and make you look scruffy, especially if you’re on the petite side! You don’t want to look like you’ve been swallowed!

4. Streamlined and Fluid Is Good
