This made me realize that I neglected to talk about another absolute necessity for me… tanning. Today, I’ve rounded up the best cruelty-free bronzers and leg makeup for mature skin.
In case you haven’t noticed, I’m extremely fair skinned. My legs are glaringly white, which can cause the blue veins to stand out like on a roadmap. When I was younger I didn’t know enough about the importance of sunscreens and used baby oil sprinkled with iodine, which promised to “paint my skin”. This was also a huge fail and only managed to marinate my skin for the resulting sunburn.
I don’t tan no matter how long I’m in the sun, so I have to rely on self-tanners that have come a long way in the last few decades. After asking my readers and trying a few options myself, I decided to dive deep and find the best bronzers and leg makeup for mature skin.
Does self-tanning make you look older?
It really depends on who you ask! My personal opinion is no. I think a little (fake) color can add to your look and even give you a more youthful appearance when done right. Honestly, the best part about bronzer is that it helps to camouflage any veins or bruises you may have. When I came to Florida last month, I saw many of the other bloggers tan for the trip. It never occurred to me, but next time it will.
What is the best bronzer for mature skin?

Let me start by saying this tanning oil It is a sweet moisturizer even without the self-tanning properties. Contains Vitamin E, sweet almond oil, shea butter, cocoa butter and tons of other moisturizing oils. It smells good and feels super moisturizing that goes on.
Here, I applied TAN-LUXE Butter Tanning Butter normal lotion on the right and left. You can see it quickly flip pastiness in just four hours. You can apply it all over but I’m only interested in adding color to my legs.
UPDATE: After trying the Tanning Oil, I noticed that after a few days it started to smear on my white towel. If I had dark towels, I don’t think I could see it. I’m interested in trying out the other options Tan-Luxe has to offer because the color was so pretty to see if they stay put. paradise island
i tried it is very popular Paradise Island falls. I like that they are organic because I try to avoid as many chemicals as possible. My daughter mixes them into her moisturizer and loves them. Unfortunately, I had a terrible time using them and ended up with an uneven and streaky tan/tangle. I know a lot of people swear by them, so I guess it was. user error. The brand also has quite a few other options, and almost all of them have five-star reviews, so I want to try the brand again.
Beauty from the World tanning lotion
This comes on the recommendation of an influencer. I was surprised to see that there were over 19,000,000 reviews on Amazon, but I had never heard of the brand. It fits my standards of cruelty-free and clean, that’s why I added it foam add it to my cart and give feedback to try it in medium/medium shade.
+ Luxury Unfiltered
+ LUX UNFILTERED was co-founded by lifestyle blogger Sivan Ayla. This is another thing I discovered with great reviews on Amazon. It is non-toxic, cruelty free and vegan. I like that it has two scent options, Santal or Rosewood, instead of smelling like a regular, horrible self-tanner.
Vita Liberata
While searching for the best bronzers, I came across this brand which has many varieties and is cruelty free. The Gradual Bronzing Lotion just received Allure’s 2020 Best Beauty Award, so I’m planning to give it a try.
Saint Trope
This was one of the most recommended body and face tanners in the AWSL community. Be sure to pick up the glove for easy application of this foam.so it doesn’t smudge all over the place or stain your hands.

Why I Don’t Use Jergens Anymore
i used to use Natural Shine by Jergens for years. While the brand meets cruelty-free standards in the US and is featured on its label, the brand as a whole is not cruelty-free. To be clear, Jergens does not test on animals but does request that it be tested on animals for sale in mainland China. They allow testing on animals by third parties “where required by law”. As a result, the dollar is more important than a commitment not to support animal testing.
Body and Leg Makeup
I have noticed many readers talking about how they like to use body makeup on their legs. Even though I’ve never done this, I can see the advantages. This is a quick solution that I would consider using for something like a wedding or dress up.
