Best Beauty Brands to Try at Nordstrom This Spring

I love seeing which beauty products I still love and which ones need a refresh each spring. I have my favourites, but there are a lot of new things and I like to try new ones. To update my eye makeup last month, I took a few things I love from Ilia (one of my favorite clean, cruelty-free brands) and created a softer eye look. Unfortunately, I got an eye infection from ocular rosacea and the doctor told me I needed to change my eye makeup again! I decided to take this chance to try some new higher things. Nordström and went for a more smokey eye look.

one. Charlotte Tilbury

You’ve probably seen this brand or heard someone talk about Charlotte Tilbury’s famous Pillow Talk lipstick. I have tried a few of their lipsticks and loved the consistency so I decided to try a few of their other products. At Leaping Bunny, which you know is important to me, she makes a full line of cruelty-free skincare and beauty products. Since I needed to change my eye makeup, I decided to buy a new eyeshadow palette, mascara and eyeliner.

Eyeshadow palette from the movie “The Sophisticate” It contains really pretty neutral colors in a matte finish that you can use for a subtle look or a full smoky eye. I cover my entire eyelid with the paleest shade, then brush my eye socket with the medium shade and lightly dab a tiny bit of the darkest color in the outer corner. They are heavily pigmented so a little goes a long way.

If you are looking for a nice waterproof eyeliner, I highly recommend it. Rock ‘N’ Kohl in Smokey Grey. It glided easily without tugging and lasted all day. Plus, unlike some eye pencils, the pigment was rich so I only had to swipe it once instead of going over and over again. Gray looks nice and dark but softer than black.

Pillow Talk Lifts Lashes! mascara I was surprised how good it was. It has been announced to give you a vertical lifting effect for 24 hours with its special brush. The flat side of the brush is designed to load while combing and lifting bristles. It was dark and really curled my eyelashes like it said.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills

i used this Anastasia Brow Wiz penciIt’s been years but I’ve decided to up my game this Brow identifier with a wider tip. Anastasia is the queen of all things and has achieved iconic status for her professional quality and gorgeous colours. The taupe shade is perfect for me, so I ordered the same shade for me in the new Brow setter. I know some ladies like to write in pencil in small strokes that look like hair, but honestly, I don’t have the patience for that, so this thicker triangular tip fills in my sparse areas more quickly and without a sharply defined line.

Until I worked on this article, I didn’t realize that each end of the triangle should be used for different purposes on your brows. Here are the guidelines I found on the Nordstrom website: “Use the sharpest point of the tip to create thin, feather-like strokes. Use the angled part of the pencil to create thick, hair-like strokes. To create broad strokes, use the pencil on its side. Also to set brows in place and diffuse pigment. It has a nice spool at one end.

I was really surprised at how smooth and velvety it felt on my face. I also love that it protects your skin from blue light. Contains SPF 40PA+++, resistant to water and sweat for 40 minutes. Just like Glow Sunscreen, this one is also a primer. Even better, Invisible Sunscreen is also reef-friendly and oil-free.

Finally, I bought Shimmershade Illuminating Eyeshadow In First Light colour. Your eyes are one of the most vulnerable spots and one of the first places to show signs of aging, so it makes sense to add a little extra protection to fragile skin. This cream shadow contains 20% zinc oxide, so it really protects your skin. I lightly dabbed a small amount all over my lids for a soft, luminous finish.
