Earlier this month, we launched our newest addition of Edited Tracks, bellaire dress which comes kids sizes (12-18M – 6T)! Nori and I wore our clothes anniversary post, and I wanted to share some more detail and fit information. This dress was inspired by the New England summers and features easy-stretch straps and a comfortably gathered back. Samples of this dress were spread out on the floor last year, and I was correcting the pattern and the special floral print when Nori walked in. She exclaimed how beautiful she was and asked if I could make a suitable dress for her. Yes, actually it felt great to say I could!
I love that this dress can be worn for a special occasion but can also be worn with flats every day – I wear it regularly to daycare and it makes my day when passersby stop to ask where it’s from! I also sat comfortably in a car for several hours and came out pretty much wrinkle-free.
Fit & Details
This dress has an empire style waist that makes it both maternity and postpartum friendly. Stretch elastic straps pull down one at a time making the dress nurse-friendly too. I am 5′ tall and bangs like an ankle length maxi dress and would be a midi length for someone taller. As you got to know me, for practicality of course it had to have pockets large enough to fit a phone or a small wallet.
This dress is made from an Oeko-Tex certified blend of lightweight, vibrant cotton poplin fabric that minimizes creasing. While the dress is machine washable, I like to dry most of my clothes to keep them looking pristine.
sizing
The feedback we’ve had so far from fit testers and customers is that this dress fits perfectly. I currently measure around 32 busts, 24 waists, 33 hips and could do XXS for a snug fit or XS for some wiggle room. We also have a nice client Priscilla She shared that she is 4’11”, a larger bust and a size 4/6 on most brands, wearing Small in our dress. For the children’s version, we recommend choosing a size between sizes, especially as the little ones grow up quickly!
