Are Capris in Style or in Style? –

[ad_1]

Hello Deborah,

I’m taking apart my closet and noticed that I have several capris of different widths and lengths. What I want to know is, is Capris still out of fashion? And if so, what should I wear to look current? Thank you Gabriel.

Hello Gabriel,

I’m so glad you asked this because many of my readers are also confused. There has always been a downside about capris, which makes you wonder if capris are outdated? But the answer is that it’s still very “in”—not in a cutting-edge way, but a steady summer wardrobe staple that many girls love. We’re seeing more of it than we usually see, probably because any style of cropped pants is very much in vogue right now.

To clarify, capris are casual summer trousers. around medium calf. They can be tapered, skinny, wide-leg, and if they end just above the ankle, they’re considered trousers, not capris.

Many women don’t like capris because they visually cut off your legs and make you look grumpy and squat. They are not ideal if you have heavy legs and you need to make sure they don’t end in the thickest part of your leg. Just above or just below this point is best. Getting the right odds is key. The capris narrowing towards the skirts are also getting weaker.

Here’s a look at some popular capri styles for summer 2022 and what to wear with them to look current and cute.

1. Straight Leg Capris

Capris follow the same trends as jeans. Skinny jeans and skinny capris have long reigned, and you can still wear them, but straight-leg capris are the latest look. These taupe, linen, straight-leg capris are light and airy. They look great with this romantic flowy floral peasant blouse. Add a pair of creamy espadrilles sandals, a woven bag and a few modern earrings and you’re in for a chic, casual look.

2. Skinny Cuffed Capris

As mentioned, skinny capris are still here, and we’re seeing a lot of them making the headlines this season. These slim, white NYDJ jeans fold down at the hem (but you can also roll them down), similar to Bermuda shorts. I love them with this floral twist-tie top and some dainty quilted slip-on sandals. A bright bag and summer earrings elevate this feminine daytime look.

3. Short Leg Capris

Cropped Wide Leg Capris were hot last summer and are still going strong. I love this classic white pair that sits on the hips and then expands to a cozy glow. Most of the wide-leg capris we’ve seen are high-waisted, which helps compensate for the shorter skirt length and helps you look taller.

Cropped wide-leg capris look beautiful with a cropped, zipped or floral front lace-up top like this one. Add a cute bag, beaded earrings and a gorgeous pair of studded sandals (capris were made to show off gorgeous shoes) and you’ve got a stylish summer look.

4. Colorful Capris

Colorful Capris add a light and fun holiday vibe to an outfit. These have sexy side slits that make them comfortable to wear and much more stylish. Boho style is natural with capris, so why not try a beautifully embroidered top and some funky knit padded sandals for a carefree, beachy summer look?

5. Side Button Capris

If you want your capris to look more stylish, these side button capris are for you. Buttons add a military flair to these capris and exude a classic style. A whimsical-colored blouse in khaki is a stylish look. Keep it casual with a rope and leather mule, gold chain purse, and a touch of jewellery.

6. Classic Jeans Capris

Denim capris are a classic go-to, but add a fresh top with a cute boho vibe and get a brand new feel. Did you know that a pair of gorgeous sandals and a modern bag is the easiest way to refresh any outfit? Espadrille-filled sandals and a classy white chain handbag are a great way to take a casual capri look to the next level.
