Add Interest to Neutral Outfits with Texture

Happy Monday ladies. Today I have casual, casual and budget-friendly looks in soft neutral colors for you. Color is a great tonic for our souls, but nothing can be a perfect neutral for an outfit that’s easy on the eyes. These looks are also heavy on texture. I love adding textured interest to neutral outfits, so today’s ootds have lots of cords, faux fur, and faux suede.

I started with this cream sweater in winter white. It’s one of my favorite neutrals because its soft finish appeals to most skin tones. This is a cozy sweater cables, bobbles, moss stitch and a pattern game of textures… all those things I enjoy knitting:) Available in 4 more colors in XS-XXL sizes. I chose the middle for it to be a little big, but it stays true to size.

I like that the pattern continues on the back of the sweater so there is interest that comes and goes.

I combined the sweater with these faux suede jeggings. They have a nice height, back pockets and belt loops, but it’s a simple pull-on style that isn’t any easier to wear.

This camel is a wonderful soft neutral coordinate with many other colors. Reviews suggest ordering, which I do not recommend. They fit the size and have tons of stretch with 6% spandex so they reshape after you sit and move.

These comfortable hiker style boots They have faux suede uppers, faux fur around the ankles, memory foam insole, and they’re so cute! Available in 5 colors, including pink :), in sizes 6-11. Black and tan versions are also available in wide widths. I was happy to see that Walmart had loads of shoes inside. Wide expanses here. These have a lug sole for traction and fit the size.

Can you ever go wrong with pearls? It’s not in my book. Who knew Walmart carried cultured pearls? I found lots of good options in the store and even more online! This is Tin Mug style It is modern and classic at the same time. I also found this stunning South Sea pearl necklace this belongs on someone’s vacation list 🙂

This is a corded cardigan this adds even more texture to the outfit. Is it too much, Jennifer? Not for me because of the neutral color palette. I also believe that wearing a texture closer to my face helps reduce the appearance of texture on my face.

Here’s a different take on casual. I replaced the leggings with these straight legs jeans In a medium wash called Northshore. Normal and petite are available in sizes 4-16, I wear 8 normal. They are described as medium height but not too low for my tall torso. Denim is made from a sustainable cotton blend made with 29% recycled fiber and some stretch.

Here is the same crew neck in a soft green color that they call the Sea Turtle. I love that it opens the wires and the pearls show up. I read that you should buy pearls that are the same color as your teeth…Did you hear? I guess it’s because they look like they “belong” to you 🙂
