50+ The Most Comfortable Shoes Your Feet Will Love

Having comfortable shoes is more important as you get older, but I want them to be stylish. New technology and modern products mean we no longer have to suffer for stylish shoes. Today, I’m sharing some of the most comfortable shoes that anyone over 50 feet will love. Annie and Mary Anne join Cindy and me in this month’s 50+ Style Arrangements.

Older feet may have bunions, dropped arches, corns or calluses, hammertoes, and/or plantar fasciitis, making comfortable shoes a must. I have a few go-to brands that fit my bunioned feet, and I’ve rounded up some other great options for you. Let’s start with sneakers and walking shoes.

I’ve been a fan of Ecco shoes for years. I have the lace-up version in 3 colors and last year I added a metallic slip-on that I find myself wearing all the time. Ecco laces are coming 4 colors here3 two-tone options hereand with 5 colors color coordinated soles here. Slip-on version is coming 7 colors here. Eccos feature a cushioned insole with arch support and a leather upper/leather and textile lining/synthetic sole. The insole is also removable so you can use your own custom orthosis.

I like My AllBirds Stretches easily and offers tons of cushioning. Many colors and options are available, including wide width. Their lightweight upper is made of eucalyptus fiber, which is breathable and super stretchy. They have a padded midsole for all-day comfort and support and are machine washable.

These little beauties are simply magical. Now I have them in 3 colors. These super-comfortable slip-on sneakers feature a flexible rubber sole and a whipped suede upper. They stretch to shape your feet and are cool in hot weather.

I tried Birdies after my daughter recommended them. They make mules and slippers in patterns that change every season. These starlings It comes in medium and wide widths in tons of colors and patterns. I find medium size wide for me. this mule It was last year’s version and I was wondering if there will be more embroidered options this year because linen is perfect for summer.

ROTHY’S

I’ve worn these Rothy’s animal print hats more days than I can count. In fact, if I didn’t plan which shoes to wear for the day, they are the shoes I left to wear on the garage door now. They go with everything and are incredibly comfortable. The pattern has changed subtly throughout the seasons, but Rothy’s always does an animal print.

Rothy’s shoes are made from recycled plastic bottles and they don’t stretch, so you’ll need to buy the size you normally wear. They are all machine washable and seem to last forever! New driver style it has my name all over it so i just have to pick one color.

PAUL GREEN

I’ve worn Paul Green sandals for years, but I didn’t know they were incredibly comfortable until I tried the sneakers last spring. These are definitely expensive, but I can wear them all day and my feet never get tired.

Paul Green believes in making shoes that will last a lifetime, not just once. It is handmade in Austria with only the finest Italian leather. I’ve worn these metallic ones to the beach, touring, climbing rocks and they still look almost like new. I’ll definitely save up and replace when they die.

EILEEN BALIKCI

I’ve been wearing Eileen Fisher shoes for as long as I can remember. The leather is soft, the sole of the foot is cushioned and wide enough for my medium/wide foot. Actually, I don’t recommend them to women with narrow feet.

Sweaters and fabric ball shoes are my personal favorites these days because they stretch where my bunion comes out and they never tighten.

I wore these sports sandals Hot cobbled streets every day on our last trip in 2019 and I still wear them today. EF does this shape every year in a variety of colors with a little twist at the base. They are in 4 colors this year, being quite metallic.

As I remember, I wore Gentle Soul shoes and loved them. It’s designed with a well-cushioned footbed and arch support that’s perfect for those long days on your feet.

The best walking shoes for older women

Wearing the right shoes is crucial to getting the most out of walking, which is one of the best and low-impact ways to stay in shape. Look for shoes that offer a wide toe box that won’t curl hammer toes and bunions. They need to provide arch support for stability and extra padding for cushioning.
