The biggest question of all. where do you start In case you want to do the browsing on your own, I’ll give you a list of some of my favorite places and brands to get you started. However, one of the things I found helpful is to start with the mother of the bride section because they group most of the age-appropriate dresses for us here! Winter Wedding Guest Dresses For Women Over 50 And 60 Years Old

When choosing an outfit for an upcoming wedding, I tend to lean towards a dress. I think it’s always better to overdress. I know that it can be a little difficult to find the silhouette of a dress that suits your body type, especially on the computer screen.

My favorite types of dresses for women over 50 are tight and loose and A-cut silhouettes. These two styles are flattering for many body types. They have a defined waist and are very forgiving as they divert attention from the middle and camouflage wider hips and calves. I’ve also included a few shift dresses in my guide because I think this looser silhouette is universally flattering, too.

Consider your budget when shopping for an upcoming event. I often find that buying a dress is more cost effective than purchasing it separately. But it also depends on the accessories needed to complete the outfit. If you choose a sleeveless or short sleeve option, wear a warm shawl (like this amazing) or a shawl to keep you comfortable. A dress with more embellishments or a higher neckline means you can get away with less jewelry and accessories. A simpler dress (like this sheath dress) pairs better with glamorous earrings.

Trousers Sets and Partings for Older Women

Can you wear pants to a wedding? Yes, you definitely can. If you don’t like dresses or if your legs aren’t your best feature, pants are totally acceptable. Trousers offer the option of wearing flat shoes, which many ladies (though not all of us!) find most comfortable for long days standing up and dancing at receptions. You don’t have to worry about wearing pantyhose. Also, trousers often have pockets, which can be very useful.
