4 Outfit Ideas for the Holiday Week

[ad_1]

The city is filled with seasonal joy and I love to dress accordingly with all the cozy textures, layered fabrics and luxurious finishing touches! Here are a week’s worth of outfit formulas using wardrobe pieces most of you may already have—a little casual, a little more festive.

1. Exploring Shopping / Holiday Markets

Clothing Formula: Tunic sweater + tights + boots + topcoat + beret

There are several holiday markets and ice rinks in Boston that I can’t wait to meet my family at this year! A loose sweater tunic with black tights is always a comfortable and stylish choice as an outfit base. I would also wear a patterned or black fringed scarf for extra warmth!

2. Office

I started this outfit with two very basic pieces (white blouse + neutral pants) and dressed it up with a little festive outfit trick I’ve been doing ever since. 7+ years ago! they sell ribbon neck ties especially for this purpose, but you can really use whatever you have on hand… velvet or grosgrain ribbon, colored like black or emerald. Many possibilities!

Clothing Formula: Buttoned blouse + pants + ribbon + textured jacket or blazer

3. Dinner Party or Winter Wedding

I love the blend of velvet and satin here! Again, each of these clothing pieces is simple, but the multiple textures, sleek cut, and sparkly finishing touches take the look a step further. I bought this slip skirt years ago and thought it was too big and long, but now I’m glad I kept it as it suits my tastes so well! Instead of this particular top, a corset like I shared recently also pairs gorgeously in this look.

4. Vacation Lunch or Tea with Friends

If lighter colors like this aren’t for you, this same look is super stylish and easy to recreate in all black. I’d do a black short skirt, a black jacket, and a gray, cream, or camel sweater. And you can easily replace the long boots fleece lined tights and black ankle boots.
