Trend Alert!! I think plus size metallic swimsuits are a HUGE trend for summer 2023, so (as part of VERY fun plus size swimming week) we thought we’d put together some of our favorite plus size metallic swimsuits for you!
Plus Size Metallic Swimsuit
There are a few things to keep in mind when shopping for plus size metallic swimwear! Before I begin, I thought it would be very helpful to share some of my personal tips!
My tips:
- FABRIC CARE: The shiny sparkly metallic-y fabric (I know that’s not a word but now it is!!!) is machine washable so you want to make sure you follow the care instructions on the label. Many fun and sparkly swim fabrics can only be HAND WASHABLE and EVEN DRY (please NEVER put your swimsuit in the dryer!)
- SWIMMING SIZE CHART! Fun fact (or… not-so-fun fact), swim size charts can be DIFFERENT from a brand’s regular size charts. For example, I may be personally accustomed to shopping for a size 22 or 24 and when purchasing SWIM I may realize that I am actually a size yyy 26 or 28 at the SAME brand.
- SEPARATORS: Listen, we love plus size one-piece swimsuit, but REAL TALK – individual swim competitions are so much fun and let you mix and match!! If you’ve never bought a two-piece plus size swimsuit, then I suggest you skip it (see the pool joke there, lol) and buy your first two-piece swimsuit in 2023!

As a plus size baby, I’m so excited to see more monokini options! This metallic oversized monokini is so much fun! It comes in a number of colors, including gold, “penny” (copper color, I believe), and other shades of silver.
